#5 class should be the floor. Remember Butch Jones landed a top 5 class in his 2nd season. And Jeremy Pruitt and this staff are worlds better.
I think top 3 is more likely.
Seems like i've heard several people say he's a two way player potentially fwiw. and we definitely need more DB help than WR...
Would make sense. I was curious as to why we were still going after WRs given our needs in the secondary.
Butchs never sniffed even a top 10 avg per player ranking, his top 5 classes were really 15ish looking back.
Pruitt will have us in the top 3 overall in ranking and per player ranking. Gonna be elite.
Disagree, wouldnt say definitely by any stretch of the imagination imo. At best its a wash and realistically, we have more players at DB than WR.
We have some talent, both proven and undeveloped at both Safety and Corner....Warrior, Abernathy, TKJr, Jackson at safety....Shamburger, Labruzza, Osborne, Byrd, Buchanan at Corner.
Conversely, we have two proven WRs on the roster right now (Callaway and Johnson), both of which have to get much better, much more consistent. Palmer showed nothing last year as a starter/guy who was in the lineup a lot. There are others like Murphy, Jones and Fant who weve really not seen at all.
So, imho, Id give the nod to WR as more of a position of need at this point, especially with JJs return up in the air and the experience that we have at safety....especially with Warrior who I think can be an all-SEC type player.
Griffin is the best pure CB
Campbell is a physical cover safety. Who can play CB...but that's not his future
Smith is more athletic than Campbell
