'18 FL OT Daniel Faalele

Making in roads at IMG is a really good thing. Important to get this kid now if we want him. Carvin we feel pretty good on where we are. The other in state kid I would keep in contact with and try to get him to be a preferred WO or a backup if something falls through with one of the olinemen.

He has LSU just offering. The other in state kid won't PWO.

Definitely the first guy you want getting off the bus. Can't teach SIZE. Even if he's raw in technique, that can be taught.

I'm more interested in his "Motor". If he's got Drive and the "Want to", he could be a HUGE pick up. You get a guy that's that big and wants to learn instead of just using his size and the potential is astronomical!!!

But plenty of large people try football and fail. Off the field Faalele tries not to intimidate with his size. He speaks softly. He treats others gently. Initially, Ruth and the coaches wondered if that might affect his play. Ruth says that as a child, Daniel would walk away when playtime got rough because he worried he might hurt his friends. That wouldn't work on a football field.

At practice Faalele erased any such fears quickly. During individual drills Elder had Faalele line up as a defensive tackle. "Guys were bouncing off him left and right," Elder says. Contact, it appeared, did not bother Faalele one bit. In fact, talking about slamming into opponents produces a smile and a chuckle and adds a little volume to Faalele's voice. "I love it," he says. "It just feels natural. It feels like an achievement to overpower someone else." On the football field Faalele never has to hold back. "Now, he's able to just release all that," Ruth says. "He must have been enclosed for so long. Now he's playing a sport where he can just explode. In fact, he's required to. That's why I think he's loving it."

Really struggling at camp, it's not really fair to the guy. Hasn't been playing two years against guys who have been doing camps for 4 years alone. It will however be a good learning on what he needs to work on.

If you're going to take a commit from a project player, take a commit from a project player who a physical freak with unlimited potential.

It also helps when you have to look directly up to his face and call him a "project" 🙄😳... 'cause this kid is a mountain!

And another giant who once commuted to Vols, think brown was the name. Flipped to ou and got drafte pretty high right.

He's still playing at OU. He's been pretty good for them. Struggled with weight early on, but got it under control (well, relatively speaking...he's still like 6'8 360) as a RS freshman and has been solid for them ever since.

It's really a shame he couldn't qualify for us. He probably would be going into his third year as a starter here.

Orlando Brown? Pretty sure, he started both games UT played against OU
