'18 FL WR/ATL Shocky Jacques-Louis

exactly. catch n run explosive wr play is what we have missed esp in our offensive scheme.

My impression is that a lot of this had to do with our QB having trouble getting the ball to receivers in position to make a play. It's tough to stop and reach down (or jump) for a ball, then recover an make a move before pursuit has time to react. I thought Dobbs was a little slow getting the ball to the receiver and just didn't hit them in stride on catch and run plays, including slants, flare passes, and bubble screens. I'm interested to see if the QB this year places the ball better and if that makes a difference in YAK.

I agree. Dobbs was great and he definitely made up for his passing flaws with his running ability, but I think whoever the QB ends up being next season we will be more balanced as a team. I think QD or JG will be a better pure passer, with the lean so far going to QD, and that'll free up the run and passing lanes, especially if, like you said, our QB can hit the WRs in stride.

With Dobbs, I felt like teams were not afraid of his arm and they could stack the box on us resulting in more pressure. He also would miss some easy throws, check down a lot, and not always hit the WR in stride so it potentially cost us extra yards. Now we still did good at times and Dobbs had good passing games, but I think being more balanced as a team will really help the offense this year.

But, but we've got Josh Smith.

When he's healthy. I can't figure him out solmetimes he shows out other times you forget he's even in game.....some catches he had in the come back on its were beautiful. And I would be happy if we got slot play as good as we did with pig. We may have same speed as he did but i don't see the production....i hope that changes this year....i was hoping Perry would fill that role

I'm sure u know Perry is no longer a member of the Tennessee football team. I hope Smith has a great senior year.

Oh yeah, in case everybody forgot this is Shocky's thread and I expect him to commit today. Don't know why, just have a feeling.

Sure did that why I stated I was hoping.....hope your right......sign him up

Well, another wrong prediction by The Dog. I still think Shocky is our next commit and soon

CP should have been used like Kamara. Just get the ball in his hands. Put him in the backfield and hand off to him. Limit is route tree to screens and slants out of the backfield. Guy was electric with the ball in his hands.

Best athlete ever in Orange with the ball in his hands. He was flat out ridiculous.

I doubt it, coaches aren't showing any creativity getting playmakers the ball. He'd have to do his damage on simple plays.

What are you talking about? That first year was nothing but WR hand offs and screens. He would've dominated with those play calls.

He wouldn't have understood anything other than simple plays. Let's be honest.

He understood a much more complex playbook his year one. CP ran enough routes to be productive in college. And he was literally the best athlete on the field when he was in college. The way he ran around that star studded Georgia team on the reverse was crazy.

He didn't understand anything. That was always the criticism of him being published. No one is debating his athleticism. He's the best offensive talent I've ever seen at Tennessee. I'm debating your comment that the playcalling had any bearing on his performance. He simply is not a very intelligent guy and that has carried through to the national football league.

Could you imagine CP at Baylor playing for Briles?
