Always makes me wonder when the in state school is not chasing a highly ranked recruit. Its not as if he's not being recruited by major P5 teams so what gives? Is he not good enough or not a fit for them? GA trolls welcome to respond

Do you mean like Tennessee didn't recruit Dodson at aTm or Phillips at LSU?

He said McClendon is a done deal if he doesn’t get the OC job at SC.

Been extremely busy this last year with work so I havent kept up with highschool football like in years past. Who is McClendon that you are referring to? Are you referring to the South Carolina coach?

Yes, SCe current WR coach is rumored to be our next WR if he doesn't get promoted at SCe.

Slightly off topic, but if Valentin has already signed his LOI and is announcing tomorrow, as rumored... I wonder how that relates to this kids recruitment, if at all?

With Ollie, Tanner, Carvin, Jamir already signed, how many more OL spots do we have? I doubt we'd tell this kid no if he wanted in.

Would some current players be sold on transferring in hopes of playing time? I know our current OL situation is bad off. It's going to be interesting how we crunch numbers.

I think he's rumored to be our next wr coach, not oc. Helton is our oc. He will only stay at south Carolina if they make him oc.

Jones liked to recruit projects... especially at T.. Does not work.. Game over

Neuhaus
Raulerson
Tatum
Brooks

The heck was he thinking? Not like we were stacked at the position and we could let guys incubate for two years

Yea, Brooks was a TE that suffered serious injuries to both knees, Butch honored the scholly but the kid just didn't have the quickness to play TE anymore so they tried loading more weight on him to play OT but he just doesn't have the frame to hold enough weight to be effective.

Brooks was recruited as a TE.

Niehaus was taken because we struck out on several better options and he looked to have a high upside and played with a mean streak.

He took Raulerson because he was hoping it would help with a kid from the next class (can't remember who but we didn't get them)

Tatum actually has the talent and we beat a late surge from I think Florida to get him but I'm not sure he has the frame to put on enough weight and strength to be effective.

Brooks was recruited as a TE but knee injuries have caused him to lose his explosiveness and be moved to the OL. Good kid but its very doubtful he will ever be big enough or strong enough to be a SEC olineman.

I actually believe Tatum and Niehaus would be great lineman at a lower level, I just don't think they can add enough weight or strength to compete here.

Antonutti worries me too because he has already put on weight and still only weighs around 270. Given its more than Tatum or Niehaus weighed when they got here but how much more can Antonutti add and keep his athleticism. That is if he survives the singing scandal. Ollie lane from the last report I saw is around 300-305, that's the weight as long as it's good weight that I would like to see our olineman come in at.
