I talk to coach Mahoney or coach Jones everyday, Irvin said. They message everyday. It's a good thing they means they really want me. I respond to them everyday out of respect. Irvin said sometimes it's a message to call. Sometimes it's a message of good luck or have a good day. But the bottom line is that everyday there's a message and it's something that leaves an impression.
My mom likes Tennessee. She loves the family the vibe there. We both like the facilities. And it seems like they really care about you as a person and not just a player, Irvin said. I know Cade Mays, Irvin said. He and I are good friends. We have been talking for a bit. He is pretty cool. I met him at the Ohio game. He's recruiting me hard.
In addition to coming to the Ohio game, Irvin was in town for the Alabama game. As for his next visit to Rocky Top, Irvin said he expects to see a lot of schools in the spring. "I plan on taking in a lot of junior days, Irvin said. Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina and maybe a couple of more.
The 6-4, 280 Irvin would like to see Southern Cal at some point as well. He's also working towards an early decision. I'm trying to make a decision in May, Irvin said. But I want to take my official visits. My mom wants me to get it out of the way. I'm wide open at this point. I'm pretty wide open. While Irvin is wide open, he's also getting a feel for how hectic life is going to be over the next year and it's something he never expected. It's not at all what I expected, Irvin said. It's so stressful. You don't know the half. Everyone wants your time. Everyone wants you to visit.
I think I have good feet, good hands and can move, but I have a lot to work on, Irvin said. I just need to focus on my team and winning a championship. I need to work on my hand placement and improve my feet.
