A stats reminder on Atlanta Vol, please?

I want to believe....

AV is...ahem..what should best be called a "unofficial financial supporter" of Vol recruiting in Geirgia. As much as I used to hate some of the news he brings. His stats are truth. What he would also tell you though is recruiting is fluid. Some tracks need a lot of grease.

You the man :hi:

Still trying to imagine the 2017 class if we had landed the instate guys 😁😳

Well, we got them all but 3. Stevens and Rodgers were never coming here. Tee trolled us. I'd say Butch has done well with Trey, Chandler and others. Not to mention, he's about to close strong

People bemoaning Richardson also. We were never going to snare him AND Chandler. I preferred Chandler and still do.

We'd currently be in the top 5 in team rankings had we landed J. Stevens, T. Higgins, A. Rogers & C. Hayden.

Depending on the service top 2 or 3 in Team Rankings if QB H. Johnson's commitment had remained coupled with the foregoing in state guys. H. Johnson senior stats suggest he's overated, although I still wish he had remained committed because he assisted in losing T. Higgins.

Regardless, recruiting has held up well all things considered. We're still hovering near the top 10 or just outside.

GO VOLS!!!

He dines at Tux's table. TIFWIW.

I don't think Tux could roll with Atlanta VOL. Atlanta VOL retired so he could focus on UT recruiting.

I will post a little mini bio that I had put in another thread when asked about my involvement and where I thought the AD hire was. Give me a second and I will post for those who would like to know.

It was a joke. I know who we got and am very glad we got em.

Could be a MONSTER offensive line if they would change the goofy blocking scheme to a more aggressive one..

Won't happen with the scheme Butch runs. That's why it's been said for Butch to bring in a decent to big time OC, he would have to completely turn over the offense, and that's not gonna happen.

First off I am an official donor and very proud to be. However I am also involved in non official TN business which has been a part of my family since I was a young child. My father was very active in unsanctioned business in Knoxville for almost three decades..

As a larger donor (6 figures a year and with non cash donations of other things over 7 figures). On the non cash side I lend my aircraft to the University for a variety of TN FUND "missions".

I can tell you I do this purely for a few reasons.

1. Access to premium seating and parking both home and away. This includes access to players, coaches, and special events.
2. Incredible tax benefits while gaining facility use.
3. Anything that helps or contributes to the well being of knoxville and the state of tn (which our football program has a tremendous effect on the local economy) I am all for and will gladly support.
4. The university was near and dear to my old man...he was deeply involved as a donor and behind the scenes guy in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. I went to every home game and countless away games with him. To this day I still have the seats that I used to sit in with him growing up as a kid...so he instilled it in me from the moment I was born.

I will say on the whole I don't agree that most mega donors do things to benefit their own business certainly there are some local guys who take that into account considering the write off for some of the things they do.

At least that is my opinion and gives you all a little background as to why this place is so special to me and why I am involved on many levels.

And there you have it

Dang! You have your own plane! Whoa

This TN basketball team needs to pick it up....not a great 2nd half effort against TN tech.

As a side note I am still not sold on Barnes. Granted he rubbed me the wrong way earlier this year at an event so I am probably still holding a grudge there.
