'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

FWIW, for the life of me I don't understand why we didn't try to have Hurd on the field along with Kamara or Kelly more than we did.

Our most difficult to defend sets had Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara on the field at the same time, IMO. Dobbs was a crazy good runner, Kamara could run or play in the slot, and Hurd could block as well as many of our TEs, run, and receive pretty well to boot.

Those three in the backfield was a matchup nightmare for defenses.

I said this same thing over and over the last 2 seasons. Made zero sense. Bring the slot in motion as a running option as well, and the defense has no idea who will get the ball. Very difficult to defend.

They had Kamara and Hurd in the backfield on the first offensive play. Hurd block set up nice Kamara run...went away from it. :dunno:

Hell yeah. What I tell u all? I even picked the exact day, weeks ago. I AM THE VOLNATION ORACLE! At least, UT got the RB I wanted the most after missing out on Teague. Really like this kid. He should be a great fit for UTs offense. I will try to hold my BOOM, but it's trying to explode out prematurely

Serious question. This kid just outathletes everyone on the field. He has a habit of bouncing everything outside because he can. Is that something that is difficult to break?

Try cagleing exercises, it may help

So, after u said this, I went back and watched his "Utltimate Highlights" on hudl. Yes, he does outathlete people on occasion, but don't u see the vision, cutting ability, spin move and ability to break tackles, also? Well, I did

I don't think there is any habit to break

Sounds like Alvin Kamara.

I still go back and watch the play where Alvin stops his knee from touching the ground (with maybe an inch to spare), comes up and finishes the run for a TD. No coach alive or dead can teach that kind of want to.

Yes sir. I saw it again yesterday, I believe. Amazing. U are right, u can't coach that. It was a combination of natural talent, unbelievable balance and like u said, a will to not go down and score the TD

Hurd was critical to several of our wins during his time at Tennessee. He had a huge fourth down play at USCe in 2014 that extended a critical drive. He pounced on the Dobbs fumble against Appy State. He was had some great bowl performances.

He was a jerk and he probably contributed to the loss at USCe last year. But he was a good player overall. No question about that.

Could Dixon get a bump on Rivals or 247 in their rankings?

Looks like this will be a nice ESPN ranking boost!

Think this guy is a game changer!

I have no love for Hurd because of how he left TN, but I will never say anything bad (other than the last couple of games of his career here) about what he did while he was here.

I will always blame Carlin's fumble on Hurd though. Go back and watch the play (after the play)...I'm pretty sure Dobb's blamed it on Hurd too.

His first two yrs he was probably one of the three best players on the field (Barnett&JRM the others) but last yr he was a cancer and teams are usually better off without someone like him. Jmo
