I have to believe the staff would tell him to kick rocks if he showed up and started causing problems. Not signing him for 4 years and making him team captain - he’s a one semester rental. He’ll either fall in line with the leadership and culture or he will be more of a loner with an attitude that leaves after 4 months. Just don’t see the risk hereI would hope he would recognize that as well, but let’s say he comes in and is #2 or #3 or even lower on the depth chart (I truly believe Small showed enough last year that he is the starter). How is his attitude gonna hold up & how would it effect the rest of the team? That’s all I question.
If he comes in and is an obvious issue, kick him off the team. Simple as that.If there are attitude, off field or locker room issues I would be against it, as Heupel spent all of last year developing a team first mentality. You can lose team chemistry and all the work done to change culture if that is an issue.

I don't know that Dixon is the guy we are reportedly getting, but I do know that I doubt the allegation that Dixon has a bad attitude.
He was recruited over at Clempson (which is riding playoff success until they're not) by a likely first round pick. And that is the exact situation that everyone here has always thought would fill up the portal with quality players. This staff apparently wanted him last fall.
Dixon made a mistake and chose UVW last fall, then he decided he could do better. He could do that under the transfer rules. I haven't seen that the UVW fans dissed Dixon before he left. I suspect "sour grapes," and suspect it strongly in the event that Heupel wants him. Heupel is hyperaware of culture issues. We'll know soon enough.

Well, this is a fuller account:According to the Clemson staff, it was more attitude related than being recruited over. Didn’t jive with CJ Spiller.

Lyn-J Dixon details his decision to leave Clemson, transfer to West Virginia
I should say 10 things. (Sorry!) First, candidly, I never believe anything Dabo says. I admit it. Two, it appears to me that Dabo sat Dixon out for the first half of the GA game, then tried disingenuously to blame his [Dabo's] lack of a running game on Dixon because Dabo lost. Then blamed his own decision on Spiller instead of taking responsibility. Third, Dixon was clearly recruited over, and it is no disgrace to lose out to a 5* freshman that a lot of people see as an early draft pick one day. Dixon still may be a lower round guy himself. Fourth, I think it was reasonable for him to leave Clempson. He has one season to make the league. I think he should have come here last fall. I don't know the backstory. Fifth, Look at his tweet in the final paragraph of the link I provided. At the least, Dixon tried to make amends or praise the guys who took his place. Sixth, I would leave UWV for Tennessee if I were him. I don't know what happened there. Seventh, we need a running back and this is about as late as it gets to grab one. Eighth -- above all -- I trust this staff on character issues because they are delivering a unified and enthusiastic locker room. Ninth, I am impressed with how Hooker worked out. Tenth, I don't mind a good redemption story.
