'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

Let’s hear them. I responded to somebody saying that he’s a risk to not be a team player because he’s been to two other schools. Bru has done the same. Actually one more time
I think it was more TWO different programs having issues with his attitude. Bru was at Texas for a nanosecond and returned to the team he originally signed. It took the UNIVERSITY keeping him off the field even tho he was cleared of an accusation that had him leave. Hear that?

At Clemson:
He just needs to grow up, Swinney said after the game. "Needs to grow up. It's just that simple. He needs to be a team player. And just grow up. He’s a very good player, obviously.”

Last month:
“A source later confirmed to us at West Virginia Sports Now that Lyn-J was dismissed from the team”

How long was Dixon at wvu? You think we know the whole story on both of these guys?

I really am surprised that anyone is not excited about the possibility of adding Dixon.

And even moreso after the Whitehead news. We tried to get him last fall -- and that was when we had Evans.
I wonder why he didn’t land here the last time? There a chance we backed off? No way he would choose to go to wvu over UT, right?

A calendar year? Longer than the offseason before Spring practice. I'm sure we don't. Basing my posts on what's publicly available.

Where could one view that...other than searching your posts?
I timed him myself.

Here's what I can find. Sharing here as if we are Googling side-by-side, a time honored tradition for any football fans. Ignore the things that go against my point, obviously.

  • Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
  • Possesses quick feet and straight-line speed but doesn't have the elite burst to be a constant big-play threat. Improving patience as a runner, following pulling guards and makes good decisions on his cut.
  • Shows a surprising burst to beat linebackers to the edge. Can plant his foot in the ground and explode, showing better straight-line speed than expected.
  • Doesn't possess elite breakaway speed, but is fast enough to gain yardage in chunks when he finds a seam.
  • Quick feet with good vision to pick through defenses. He has solid hands and body control and is a reliable receiver.

The Taylor County athlete has incredible balance and vision that most athletes just do not possess. His ability to cut on a dime and shred defenses a part for a long touchdowns can sway the momentum of an entire game. He already has has a handful of Power 5 offers but that list will only continue. Dixon’s speed and agility makes him one of the most dangerous playmakers in the state of Georgia regardless of class.

WVU HC and RB Coach called him "a guy that can take it to the house"

Dixon, who like Etienne is known for speed over power

“I think his sophomore year, he went to Tennessee camp and they offered him right off the bat,” Wilson said. “Then, other people get started.”

Indeed, the Volunteers made Dixon his first scholarship offer in July 2015, following his freshman season. He initially committed to play for then-coach Butch Jones in June 2017 before decommitting the following October. Jones lost his job that November.

4.5 isn't slow...wouldn't call it "fast". Gotta hold my cards on this one.

And re: locker room issues, the rest of the room can sometimes contribute to the perceived issue. A change of scenery can do wonders. The family vibe around the program now might be just what he needs. You never know.
I don't get people who don't trust Heup on a question of team culture and player fit. It's not blind hope. He has produced a unified and enthusiastic locker room. And it's a major point of stress with his staff.

It's too worry-warty for me.

I'm excited as hell! But I'm still being cautiously optimistic since we missed on like 10 dudes so far.

What's annoying is all the people trying to be concerned about his character issues.

This is a big deal!
