'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

Got a real good friend who is a huge Clemson fan. Laughing because we took him. Said people like him are less likely to change having just one more year left. Said Clemson washed their hands with him and benched him. Then he said I hear he is a walking attitude. lol I said, glad people gave me second, third and fourth chances. lol
Friend know that he has TWO seasons of eligibility?

Yeah I saw that posted. I didn't know that at the time. When he first hit our radar I thought I read where he had only one year but very happy he has two. I told my friend you better believe that CH and other coaches had a face to face about what he had to do to be here. I told him CH has worked to worked to hard changing the culture here to let one ruin that. There is no way CH would let him on this team if he had one ounce of doubt about this kid.

Hahaha.
Actually? YES!!

Of course that's what it means!

Because he knew time had already expired...so he needed to throw or run. And he chose to run....out of bounds.

Another ignorant take. No it proves nothing other than he made a dumb mistake. But I guess he is like every other TN player right? They can never improve or fix their problems right?

You have to be joking or trolling. Or you never played sports. You cannot change an athletes attitude or competitiveness. When a player doesn’t like contact and proves that, he doesn’t change that year by year. I’ll take Dobbs who would fight for every yard and weighs 40 pounds less than Milton on the goal line any day over Milton.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You fall into the category of people who think players cannot improve or fix their problem areas. Yes I did play HS football.

You're about to get blocked dude.

You don't like when someone tells you something that is informational if it's contrary to what YOU WANT to believe. You just decide to side step facts at your leisure, just for the sake of keeping the argument going. Grow tf up!

I prove time and time again that you know far less than me when it comes to football. That annoys you so you call me ignorant in an attempted reverse Uno!

You sat there and argued with me about Martinez and player development. In which I DESCRIBED HOW he made Jackson and Taylor into NFL DB's. So you're really going to try and say that I think UT players can never improve?
No THATS YOU. Because you don't understand what you're looking at, EVER.

You're a child watching cartoons not retaining any information.
Post after post of nothing. You ask questions with OBVIOUS answers.
You waste your life everyday, arguing because you don't understand ANYTHING that goes on around you in the world.

Mebbe. But slowing the offense down to exclusively bring him in for routine QB sneaks doesn’t sound like revolutionary X’s and O’s.

Kind of had some time to digest this...

I'm glad he's on the roster. I hope he does well. But my preference would be for Small, Wright, Williams, and Sampson to completely lock him out of the rotation by being that good and staying healthy
Hope he comes in and is an effective leader, and takes valuable reps to give Small and Wright a breather.

Then, they all get drafted.

So you don’t think CJH will take any player unless he’s 100% confident the athlete will do everything exactly as requested? I didn’t realize there were 85 18-23 year old kids like that in America?

Wouldn’t it be more likely CJH sees Dixon’s ability to contribute to a position of need on the team so he offers him the opportunity along with sharing rules? Dixon either gets in line or CJH shows him the road. We clearly have strong player leadership right now which allows a coach to work with a few guys who might have not be sure things. no way to know for sure how someone will perform in a new organization without giving them a chance to succeed. JMO

Here's one way to look at it. Dixon is really just a low risk/high reward POSSIBILITY for Heupel to bring in. If he bring's in his old attitude and work ethic, then he will drop to the bottom of the RB room and be gone next year. If he changes any old habit and puts is athletic skill on display, he could be a high reward.

Sorta this kids last chance to prove himself or go bag groceries somewhere if he doesn't.

No. Not what I said and have no clue how you got all that from my post.

You cannot change a persons competitive makeup year to year. If someone doesn’t like contact, that usually will not change. You can tell players on the field who leave it all out there and will die for a win. Then you can see who want to win but won’t do everything on their power to win. That is just a persons competitive makeup. I played in college and I could spot weak mental players early. Doesn’t mean they are bad players, but they weren’t changing their mental competitiveness.

Yeah, just watched the 97’ Auburn game and that Lilly livered Manning guy stepped out and went down to avoid contact several times, once Late game just short of 1st down yardage requiring a punt in a championship game. Was not rewarded for that effort like Pig was for his attempt to make a play in another famous game. Standards are standards I guess.

If he was warned to not bring a bad attitude and he brings the bad attitude, why wait to end of season to dismiss him. Cut the cancer out as soon as it shows up.

wait, so we've already kicked him out for a bad attitude?

lol. literally making stuff up to bi**h about.

So you agree with me then? I never said players can’t be good players. Or even great players. In fact, I said good players can still fall short in important times depending on the situation. The conversation is if it is 4th and 1 from the one, would you rather have Milton or Hooker run it in? I’m choosing Hooker 100 times out of 100. I would chose Hooker over Peyton. Milton and Peyton don’t like contact. Peyton is the GOAt but it doesn’t take away that if it’s one yard to score and I have to chose a QB for the win and have someone run it in, I’m choosing Hooker over both because he doesn’t shy from contact and will take the beating to win.

On every run if he was about to get hit he would basically stop and fall over. He never initiated contact. Hopefully he’s worked on it
In his defense, there's a good chance he was coached to do that. They coaches' big complaint on Hooker has been that he does NOT do that, and interviews indicate that they have coached him to take less contact and protect his availability.
