'18 GA WR/S Jatavious Harris (UT commit 4.23.17)

Man, I hate this. Jat was my favorite '18 commitment. Plus, along with Cade, the main peer recruiter. This class is about to fall a part. Currie needs to act now, fire Butch and go all out for Chip Kelly. If not Kelly, I want Petrino and UT should throw in Heather Harrington to sweeten the deal. We know Bobby P loves volleyball players

Don’t say that Dog. According to a lot on here firing Butch now accomplishes nothing and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to take a Xanax

I've already taken a totem pole(xanax) and my mind hasn't changed at all. I still want Butch fired, tonight.

Who’s the “a lot”...genuinely curious. Include numbers.

They will screw up and feed us some low tier coach. Will watch and support this team but not sending them any more money yet.

I am 100% confident that they will hire some guy that we have to scratch our head over. Most of us will say, "really?"

Like you said, people will have to stop or reduce their donations to make a statement. They've been taking advantage of the loyalty of the fan base for a long time. They are counting on fans to buck up yet again. Million dollar question is, will they?

I can tell you that I won't. As I told my brother-in-law yesterday, if we go big and hire a proven head coach, I may consider buying season tickets next year. If they hire someone who is a lower tier coach and unproven or a coordinator, I will not go to another game until that coach proves he can win big on the field. I am not going to blindly support this program anymore, hoping the bargain hire is a diamond in the rough.

You will only consider buying them IF they hire a big name. You don't sound very committed. 😄

I said a proven head coach. I am tired of cheap hires hoping to find a diamond in the rough. Go and get someone who has proven they can win in a power five conference.

I'm part of the "A lot". Firing him now does more hard than good.

If he’s a lame duck...I disagree. I don’t think an interim IMPROVES matters but it does signal that change is definite. Right now there’s just a lot of squawking and empty threats about boycotts and admin ineptitude. :boredom:

Could be but I think it looks bad within the coaching community. Could negatively impact the coaching search. I think that was some of the reason LSU ended up with Orgeron.

The reason they ended up with Ogre is they had no Plan B. They swung at Fisher but he was their Gruden. It was Herman or bust, and after the Texas job became available that’s what they proceeded to do. There was no research or thought process by Aleeva after that fell through so he went with the interim and hired a hot OC to pair with Aranda. He’s a cautionary tale in AD ineptitude and Currie’s had to have read the whole series.

All that may well be true but other coaches don't like to see their colleagues thrown out on the street before anything has been decided in the season. That's all I'm saying.

The best would park their car over their colleagues carcass...that’s all I’m saying. It’s a dog eat dog profession.
