“I really want to go to Tennessee,” said Bolden, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 762 overall prospect and No. 9 all-purpose back in the 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class.

“I mean, that’s one of the places I really want to go to. I know it’s awesome up there.”

“This is what Trey told me: He said, ‘If you don’t want to go to Tennessee, then don’t go on a visit because you’re going to fall in love,’” Bolden said. “I was like, ‘Oh, crap.’

“He definitely says Coach G is somebody he really just wanted to play for, a guy you want to play for. He said he just got treated like family up there, and the atmosphere at the games is just unbelievable.

“All of those things can persuade you to commit like he did. But I’m just going to have to see it for myself.”

If this guy is such a baller like some of you say, why doesnt his offer list reflect it? Its actually pretty weak.

A RB/Slot receiver, March of his junior season, with offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy, Washington, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State, Utah, Army, Navy and others is weak? Nah. I'd say that's pretty good. And I'm guessing by August he'll have quite a few more good offers.

Few people that saw Rebel junior Slade Bolden play would doubt he is one of the area’s best players. Bolden proved it time and time again and ends the year as the 2016 All-NELA Big School Offensive Player of the Year.

Bolden rushed for 1,370 yards and 25 touchdowns and passed for 906 yards and nine touchdowns without an interception as quarterback for the Rebels. Bolden played some running back, wide receiver, kick returner and defensive back throughout the season too. Bolden was second in receiving on the team with 15 catches for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Do not task West Monroe head coach Jerry Arledge to pinpoint what makes sophomore do-it-all athlete Slade Bolden so effective. That task is both impossible and unenviable for Arledge. “Really, he’s just a football player,” Arledge said. “He’s an average sized player, but he doesn’t play like it. Sometimes, you see people talk a lot about size and speed, but there are some players that have that innate ability to make plays. That’s Slade.”

...Bolden rushed for 1,165 yards, caught 24 passes for 402 yards and passed for four touchdowns, totaling 25 scores for the Rebels in 2015. Bolden’s versatility earned him The 2015 All Ouachita Parish Most Valuable Offensive Player, as voted on by The Ouachita Citizen’s panel of voters...“That’s the type of athlete we’re talking about,” Arledge said. “He’s the type that, I think if you put a tennis racket in his hand, he’d become one of the best tennis players out there. He’s just a gifted young athlete.”

So, you are saying you don't expect him to contribute much?

Attacking a hometown kid who never got in trouble and is one of our top 5 all time kick returners is pretty weak. Dude also played in a dysfunctional system for one of our worst coaches ever.
