This is a nice pickup especially knowing he signed already one less to worry about. Hopefully he and trey pull his boy JohnCarlo now too.

Would put us with a group of:
Richmond, Smith, Carvin, Johnson, Locklear, Calbert, Brooks, Hall(maybe), Tatum, Mays lil girlfriend, Lane, JJ and JohnCarlo

Much better to look at that than it was before the Carvin, JJ and possibly JohnCarlo additions

"i was on the boat on the tennessee river and i was talking to my brother," johnson said. "i was just like, this one is different. There is a need for me here. The fanbase is crazy and you have support here and coaches here to make me into the player i want to be."

"the vibe that i got from the coaches was just something different," johnson said. "i know i haven't known them that long, but i talk to coach niedermeyer and coach friend and i really got to know them. Coach shalala was a coach at arizona western and i got good insight. I just felt like they weren't putting on a show for anyone and i wasn't either. They kept it straight with me and it went good."

johnson will play for offensive line coach will friend and the two have built a solid bond in a short amount of time. One factor in their relationship is something he heard from a mentor of his and it stuck with the talented lineman. "i love his energy," johnson said. "he isn't trying to impress you or anything. He gives it to you straight. Like my high school coach always tells people, recruit my kids like you are going to coach them and i think that is how he is."

"it played a big role," johnson said. "i know i have a chance to come in a compete for a spot early. I'm a three for three and it means a lot. I want to go to a place where i can showcase my talent and get love and i think tennessee is the right spot for me. Just get everything that i want like a degree and put in the work."

johnson isn't an early enrollee and that obviously will put him behind the 8-ball, but he knows where he is coming from and what type of grind he is stepping into. He knows where he has to improve his overall game. "i can pass block and run block," johnson said. "i know once i get to the sec, you have to know how to run block. I have to put on some weight, but that is straight. I believe in the tennessee program that they will build me up to be the player i want to be one day."

johnson originally had a visit set up for southern cal next month, but is signed and draped in all orange.

please go back and look at the first 5-6 responses on the first page of his thread... funny... A lot of time and circumstances and have gone by and changed since we offered... now he is a BOOOOM!
