'18 TN CB Jaylon King

"I've been on a few visits," King said. "I was at Georgia Tech this past weekend, and I'll be going to Tennessee and Louisville over the next couple of weeks. Things are going well."

Vols defensive coordinator Bob Shoop, who is deeply entrenched into the private school scene in Nashville, is leading King's recruitment for Tennessee. The man charged with getting things turned around after an injury plagued 2016 season is looking for future help and King's pending trip to Rocky Top will continue to help cultivate that relationship.

"They want me to come up for camp and see how I do working out," King said. "He wants me to stay home and play for the home state team. I like coach Shoop. I like the defensive style he runs and he is straight forward with what he wants from his defense. "Their main selling point has been that they are looking for me as a corner. They want to build around players like me."

Also helping things for King is his relationship with Vols target Tanner Antonutti. The two are lifelong friends and actually ride to school each morning and have done so since the two could drive a car. "I've known Tanner since I was about five," King said. "Our families are close. There is a possibility that we may go to the same school and continue that tradition. We know each other really well and if it works out then that would be great."

Playing for Ensworth has plenty of advantages and one of those is the ability to see others go through the same process. He's been able to take some of those lessons and apply it to his recruitment. "I've learned that it's important to take multiple visits," King said. "Get familiar with the academic people and the coaching staff. Those will be the people you want to know best because you will need them to help you grow on and off the field."

I think this kid ends up a Vol.

Though the he camped well yesterday. He looks all of 6-2. Enjoyed visit today. Tennessee definitely recruiting him as a CB. King wants to take visits to Louisville and Vandy and then make a decision between those schools, UT and Georgia Tech.

We're the clear favorite here, just look at the CB's. This would be a Jalen Ramsey type loss for Butch if he misses out on this one, Thanks.

Kid is not even close to Ramsey's level. VQ literally just reported he's not at the top of our board.

With Jaylon being like family to me and him being an NPA kid, he's no where near a Ramsey can't miss talent. A very versatile athlete that can play on both sides of the ball, but not Ramsey style at all.

What do you think of our interest level in him and his opinion of UT? Also do you think your kids are seeing Tennessee differently with coaching changes, draft success and the alike?
