'18 TN DB Brendon Harris (UT Commit 5/19/17)

Even his own son won't fully commit to that shoe company.

Lmao, there is literally zero chance his SON has made more money on that pathetic shoe brand than his SON would be making if he signed a deal with one of the big shoe companies.

I agree 100%. Some are willing to take a gamble and defer things to make a family business take off then sign with a shoe company later. Obviously they still want him being that they paid him to wear different shoes in NBA summer league.

No Chris that was their play to still try and do a deal with other shoe companies. He wore different shoes in which he was paid to wear them in summer league. Google is your friend in case you would like to stop spewing off what you think and know the facts. The Man is a nobody who ran his mouth to make a jump start commpany do fairly well. Once again I don't agree with all his tactics, design, or any of that but the guy did things his way and has been successful. Mr 2.2 pts is a household name and has built a brand. A Titan from the west coast cm in the shop with the slides on. ESPN, fox sports, Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless Marcellus Wiley, etc all respect what he did and so do I because he earned every dime w/o a bigger company or middle man shoe stores. That right there shoe some smarts and should be respected.

Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless?? Good grief.

I love your reaching comparing KGJr and his kids recruitment to Ball. I guess you missed the rest of what I said too that makes him a smartbusiness person for his family. Thus why you picked and chose what to respond to. Again The guy used his mouth as marketing and they're set. He has a wife who got sick and lost her income. Stop avoiding fact for your weak opinion. He's a million are who turned down letting other market and exploit his kids and did things his way from hiring coaches for schools to AAU. He got major sponsors for both based on him and his kids. He once again got all 3 boys in UCLA on scholarship 1 worthy, 2 tbd. Traveled the country talking loud about much of nothing, pumped his kid who many thought was over rated into the #2 pk of the LA Lakers. Sold enough BBB apparel to become a millionare and sponsor his AAU tm this past summer. Who cares about the tactics he uses that you nor I would use but he did what he did and that definitely not deniable. Not to mention he trains several kids from the community and feeds and clothes them too. So man miss me with your wack one track thinking.

Ball is a baffoon and an attention whore. As far as him being an astute business man, I guess time will tell..

His business decision did one thing. And it shows his true character. His business decision made sure that him, and not his son, was able to profit off his son's marketability. If he was simply worried about the bottom line his son makes more money if he signs a big contract with a major shoe company. But in that scenario daddy don't get a dime. Daddy is worried about daddy's bank account. Guess he has concern his son would not pass some of his good fortune on to daddy?

I don't agree with this at all. In life you have risk takers and you have people that stay in safe zone. I ask this of you, think outside the box. If you have an opportunity like they did to do all the things they're doing independent would you not gamble when all parties can profit? My problem.with many and their opinion is that these companies exploit the athlete why not take a chance to do it yourself and benefit your family if you can? Like I've said each time I posted on this, I don't agree with all his tactics, but clearly they've worked to some magnitude. They've sold enough shoes to be secure, the kid has been hyped to a magnitude in which he was drafted by the hometown LA Lakers, major deal with FB to do the reality show, etc. The Man has put on an act that has made him an household name and sold the BBB brand without having to spend bug marketing dollars on commercials, billboards, etc. Basically in business you can spend out and make less or spend less and make more and he has done the latter. The mom can get better treatment and again the kid has made money as well as the dad. So how is this him only trying to profit? They all stand to gain whether it's with the middle brother who's not good getting the UCLA scholarship to the little brother having a shoe and so on regardless of how well it does initially, they're willing to take a chance and can always go back and get a deal with someone if it fails.

There won't be a deal for his kids if Lonzo turns out to be a bust. The shoe companies will have nothing for him at that point. There are a lot of holes in his game and his dad has put target on his back.

Cry me a ****ing river.. Bless their hearts. You can HARDLY call it exploitation when these poor little athletes are paid MILLIONS for their 'services'...

Wtf is going on in here?

Lesson to athletes- don't ever take anything from message boards to heart. They're full of the 10% dumbass of the fanbase

You just called yourself a dumbass...

So from one failing program to another. Maybe he wasn’t a take for a lot of schools.

Yea saw that. This stings a god bit. Reflection of the state of the program. Butch losing games and recruits to Candy.

In this particular case, it's simply a recruit whose stock dropped quite a bit and Vandy was one of the few schools that would take his commitment.

“As mentioned in the story, Tennessee basically moved on from Harris once he announced he was reopening his recruitment. The Vols haven't fought to keep him at all over the past few weeks. His stock seems to have dropped over the past few months. We only kept him on Tennessee's commitment list until recently because he never was willing to admit publicly that he was no longer committed to the Vols.
He also tried to commit to Clemson earlier this month after reopening his recruitment, but the Tigers weren't prepared to take him at the time.”

Vandy is a dumpster fire too right now, so I don't think this happened simply because UT is a dumpster fire.

theyve been really bad too and gave up about 200 pts the last 4 games. So maybe the kid just wasnt a take for most schools. Oh well, it is what it is. Vandy is a dumpster fire just like we are.
