'18 TN DL Greg Emerson (UT commit 7/3/17)

No chicken little here, but I have had a similar injury. He'll be walking on it in 6 weeks, but he won't be 'back'. Bone heals easy enough, but the soft tissue will take much longer. I certainly didn't have either the drive to recover or access to the physical therapy that he does, but it was 6 months before it felt strong and over a year before it felt 'normal'. He's much younger than I was, so he might beat that, just saying it isn't a minor thing.

Had the same injury last year, bimalleolar fracture (fractured fibula and torn ligament)and dislocation. I had a plate and ten screws put in. A year later, still not "back

Dislocated ankle and broken fibula, I hope he takes the required time to let it fully heal before doing leg lifts.

He's still taking his 5 official visits per 247 😐

Nothing has changed. I'm surprised he pulled the trigger but there was never a doubt where he was going to commit. The only way Tennessee loses him is if they suck on field this year to the point where coaching change is on the table.

Mine was a clean break on both bones. No dislocation, no ligament damage. Fixed with a plate and 8 screws. It does get better, it just takes time. Emerson will recover faster with what he has access to, but still feel that playing this fall is ambitious.

He will be fine and will be monitred very closely. We'll be corresponding with mom and Drs to mk sure he takes the slow patient approach with this surgery and healing processes.
