What separates some schools is how they keep in touch with me, Iyama said. People recruiting me the hardest are Tennessee, Memphis and South Carolina. That's what separates them. They see more interested than other schools. They like my fight, my motor, and my attitude when I'm on the field. They also say they like my technique.
Saturday, Iyama was in Knoxville for junior day and left impressed with the Vols. I just want to have a place that will push me to be the best athlete on and off the field that I can be. I just want to feel at home. Tennessee is one of those places where I could feel that. They did a good job with me at the junior day.
Iyama is being recruiting by Vol offensive line coach Walt Wells and while the process is just really getting headed up for Iyama it's already been an eye opener. What I have learned about it is that there is more to it than I thought there was in the beginning, the soft spoken Iyama said. I have learned how to communicate with the coaches and things like that.
As soon as I get an offer I start looking hard at the program to see what they offer and what they can do to help me. I have been doing that since the beginning weighing out the pro's and cons of each school
Iyama said at this point everyone is recruiting him as a tackle, but where ever he's asked to play, he will line up. Just tackle right now. I know when I get to college they are going to put me at the position where I can be the best player I can be. If it's guard than so be it. I'm going to go out and do what I can to help the team win. Up next for Iyama is either a trip to Georgia or Alabama this weekend and then March 4th it's Louisville as well as March visit to South Carolina.
