He's class of 2018 rote...

There's really nothing this kid doesn't do well. Moves really well and makes plays. His speed/atheticism is excellent for a freshman IMO. Impressive...kid should be an absolute star by the time he hits college.

I love how we are already getting a jump start on the 2018 class. I think that might give us an idea where we are with the 2016 class...I think we are in a great position with a lot of our top prospects on the board (maybe even a lot of silents), and can focus a little more attention on future classes.

Obviously waaaay too early to really even pay much attention to favorites or anything yet but did pick up an OSU offer earlier this week and had them "high" even though he doesn't have any sort of list yet. Visiting Columbus this summer.

Think he was offered by UGA yesterday also.

Wasn't there someone else from Bayside High a year or two ago? I remember a whole bunch of Saved By The Bell jokes.

Oh, and beat Valley!

Recruiting Wrap: Mitchell holds 12 offers already with the most recent ones coming from Georgia and Tennessee.

Performance: Mitchell is a special talent and was one of the bigger linebackers at the camp despite only being a freshman. He is very disciplined and did a good job of not over-pursuing in drills. Mitchell can cover a lot of round with his length and makes it hard for quarterbacks to fit the ball into tight windows.

Getting this kid here for Junior Day is huge. Mitchell is another highly rated 2018 prospect that UT is hotly pursuing that seems to be returning interest.

Here is a list of some of the top rated 2018 players that we appear to be after (ranking according to 247):

#1 GA QB Trevor Lawrence (born in Knoxville, UT fan at early age, big Manning fan)
#2 NC RB Zamir White (UGA and Clemson lead - White compared to Gurley)
#4 SC DE Xavier Thomas (will be tough to pull away from USCe or Clemson)
#19 OH RB Jaelen Gill (can't imagine pulling this one away from homestate OSU)
#25 PA QB Phil Jurkovec (#1 rated dual QB -- OSU or PSU probably)
#39 NC RB Jamal Elliot
#40 VA LB Teradja Mitchell
#41 FL CB Patrick Surtain Jr. (another American Heritage prospect)
#42 FL CB Al Blades Jr.
#45 TN OT Cade Mays (UT commit)
#56 GA OG Jamaree Salyer
#60 TN DT Brant Lawless
#64 FL CB Asante Samuel Jr.
#65 GA QB Emory Jones
#66 MI OG Marquan McCall (likely UM or MSU)
#79 TN WR Camron Johnson
#106 TN ATH Mike Jones Jr.
#107 IN OG Emil Ekiyor
#109 TN QB/ATH Alontae Taylor

If you have any good information on the players above (or players not on the list that should be), please share!

Bishop Sullivan linebacker Teradja Mitchell was among a group of South Hampton Roads athletes to visit Tennessee over the weekend, coming away impressed with the Volunteer coaching staff.

“(Tennessee) is a very good program and the coaches seem to be interested. They actually offered me last year. But it was one of the best campuses that I have seen in person,” Mitchell said following the visit.

Mitchell, a MaxPreps All-American selection this past season, will take a trip to Florida in the near future for unofficial visits to Florida and Florida State. The 6-foot-3 linebacker also visited NC State recently.

Combine season is also approaching for Mitchell, with scheduled trips to Rivals and Nike Opening regional camps, both in Charlotte. Mitchell’s goal is to earn a shot at the Nike Opening finals in Oregon this summer.

We were already high on his list and now it looks like the Gaddys are recruiting Teradja. https://twitter.com/WhosThatNumber7/status/758641431175192576?s=09
