Besides how can we expect to get D4Hs evaluation opinions if we don't post the ESPN rankings?

Haha, this is a great post. I'll say I've been hard d4h also but the guy makes great talking points. Some good some bad. He's still a vol fan though regardless of how great his talent evaluations are... 35 days till ITS FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE! Time for us to unify as a fan base.. BC after this year nobody is gonna like us and we as vol fans are all each other has..GBO!!!! Feels like 98, I was only 13 no I'm 31, coincidense??? I sure in the hell hope so

Hey yeah... But what does it say

Sorry..forgot I have a subscription with them :)

“I feel like that’s one of the better campuses out of all the schools I’ve visited,” said Mitchell, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect and No. 1 inside*linebacker in the 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class.
“I love Coach Z. He’s a great man. I love talking to him. Coach Thigpen is a great coach. And I feel like that’s one of the programs that’s on the come-up.”
The 6-foot-2, 232-pound Mitchell said Florida State, Ohio State and Alabama are the three teams currently recruiting him hardest. But it’s still early in the recruiting process for him, and he said Tennessee is one of the teams he’s still considering.
“It’s a great school,” Mitchell said. “I have some interest in them.”

ughhh why can't we land more than 1 five star recruit a class:(

The Vols didn't win last year enough to convince recruits that they'd be a serious championship contender. The best recruits want to be playing for championships.

This statement is way overblown. Championships isn't the most important thing to all recruits. Sometimes relationships with coaches play a big role into their decision. Sure, they'd like to win Championships during their time in college but to say it's the main reason why we can't get every 5* recruit is just silly. Not every kid is going to want to come to Tennessee just like not every kid is going to want to go to Bama despite being in the National Title hunt every year.

1a. Putting players in the league.
1b. Winning.

Lot of new recruiters for the Vols, they'll get their guys as they build relationships. I wish Brady Hoke hadn't just taken Rutger Reitmaier from the state, but he'll make up for it.

Compare Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, etc. recent 5 year recruiting classes, and you can't deny the connection between them and championships. I did not say National championships in my original statement. The fact UT hasn't sniffed an SEC title under Butch's does have an impact on some recruits and is definitely used negatively by other schools recruiting against IT. This Mitchell kid was very high on UT last year, it isn't a stretch to say believe that what happened last year on the field had a bad impact on his recruitment.

Not sure what kind of proof you want from a conversation. Interim AD/assistant coach is a friend of a friend and the mutual friend has asked a few questions here and there for me from time to time.

Mitchell talked highly of more than a few schools but the number that had a legit chance was very small, we weren't one of them. That was true before last season even kicked off. Honestly, I thought he'd already be an FSU commit by now but apparently Urban is putting up a helluva fight.
