must mean Crystal Balls because I don't see much after Woodi, maybe throw in Walker. After that, the state CB's are not top tier.

Otey is the only other one I can think of. He's a CB right?

Maurice Hampton from Memphis, who is committed to LSU is another. And Wesley Walker has an offer from Tennessee, but I suspect that was from the prior staff as there is little talk of him since the coaching change. Not sure the new staff is pursuing. He is from Ensworth HS in Nashville, I believe.

Yeah, so that's Hampton and Walker who I haven't seen anything about the current staff talking to. And Woodi and Otey who the staff has talked to. I haven't found a 5th unless they're listed as athlete or something. And 2 of the 4 don't seem to have any interest from the current staff at this point.

I'm not taking sides in the BB Little/AL TN prospect debate. I was just curious so I looked up the list of offers from the Vols on 247 going to CB's in TN. I'm sure this debate can rage on from here. haha :)

The staff has been in contact with Hampton, Washington, and Otey. They even told Otey he was a top priority. Walker is the only one the haven’t contacted.

Walker was last staff. Hampton is one this staff wants but doesn't seem to be in a hurry to look around.

... don’t be surprised if Tennessee kicks the tires on CB DJ James from Spanish Fort, AL. James is a Mississippi State commitment who didn’t sign in the early period after getting a late offer from instate Auburn. He also got offers on Friday from Oregon and Nebraska, indicating that not only do people smell a soft commitment but also might think that the Tigers aren’t necessarily going to be unbeatable. James visited Tennessee back in the spring and picked up a Vol offer on that visit, and he has a prior relationship from having visited Alabama a few times while Pruitt was the DC there. James has 4 OVs left to take, with his one having already been to Mississippi State. Expect Bama to also get involved in what could end up being one of the most heated Late Signing Period recruitments of the year.

Yeah but why so many. I'm not sure I like that part. Taking so many this class hurts recruiting for the next 2 classes.
We only signed Burrell.
And Thompson and Taylor are the only good CBs we have.
We could use another CB but, we have FEW spots left for this Class.
I think they need to stay open for best available players.

He could play cb and may be there but a lot of people assume he'll be nickle or safety role.

Exactly, Sleegro

By people, you mean more specifically the Head Coach.

Which is why they are recruiting James.

Because- like I just told the other guy-they only have Burrell at CB

I don't know if Pruitt thinks that or not but I could see fields being successful at any position in the secondary so star makes a lot of sense, since they need those kind of versatile skills there.

Pruitt mentioned specifically how they wanted to use him in ESD press conference.
Pretty much he said what you already explained.

We could use another pure CB, but at this stage i personally want us to take best possible players available.
Means looks like a good prospect but I really want another WR. OR...another RB!
