'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

No

the dead period means coaches can’t leave campus and players can’t meet with coaches on campus either. It doesn’t have anything to do with contact rules other than face to face
You're correct, I was mistakenly using the no contact before Sept 1 of Jr year in other sports rule. There is still no way of knowing who reached out to who.

It's dead period for recruiting so he had to reach out to our coaching staff before anyone could even speak with him and neither you, nor I nor all the one's saying we were talking to him have any idea what our reply to him was when he reached out, for all any of us know CJP said thanks but no thanks we just don't have room at this time. It never made sense and the ones that were crying for it to happen are the same ones crying for anyone but JG to play QB this year.
You or I may not know, but AV certainly does, and those covering Tennessee recruiting more than likely do as well. If it makes you feel better because you are not an "anyone but JG" guy to think that we were not pursuing him then proceed.

We have a five star QB on campus and were freaking out over an overhyped QB going to UGA.

True Freshman Kedon Clovis who came in and replaced him was only a 3 star recruit.
But both Daniels and Slovis have highlights as USC Qbs....

It's not even close. Slovis is SO much better...
That's why he's transferring...

He absolutely is NOT an elite QB prospect
I've been saying this since the kid hit the portal. Pruitt's defense will eat him alive...
I'm glad he's at UGA.

I was listening to part of Football Saturday yesterday when Doug Mathews was talking with Tony Barnhart and Mathews said UT didn't recruit him at all and wasn't interested in bringing him in. So I don't know. He mentioned Tee coaching him at USC and maybe Tee told the rest of the staff he wasn't worth it? Who knows.

There were some on this board that didn't think he was being recruited here, me included.

I can believe that, especially after learning the NCAA won’t implement the 1-time transfer rule this year. Makes little sense that we would consider sitting Bailey (or Maurer or Shrout), who will most likely get plenty of playing this year, in 2021 in favor of Daniels whom many believe will enter the draft after just 1 year starting. Bailey is expected to make a big impact throughout his 3 or 4 years here, whereas you’ll get 1 year out of Daniels. No logic in considering benching him in his 2nd year and vise versa Daniels obviously wants to go where he can start right away. UGA and him are a perfect marriage imo because they’ll start that Wake Forrest transfer his final year this year and Daniels will be able to come in right after him for the 2021 season. He’ll be a 1-year starter and done player

Immediately eligible.

I'm sure Kirby's insistence on pushing the mediocre white QB over the talented black QB won't get in his way once again. We shall see!

Have we applied for Cade's eligibility waiver yet? I think we were kind of slow on Aubrey Soloman's application last year so that could be the case this year. Cade will eventually get eligibility but it is a matter of when.
