5-6 is what I expect every year tbh
In a good year, given the great increase in in-state talent in and around Nashville over the last 7-8 years....and Pruitts renewed interest in Memphis, I think 8-10 could very well be a reasonable number. Guarantee we take a significantly higher number of Tennessee recruits next year than this year and that the number is closer to a dozen than half a dozen.
Your right about cross, Ingle is at N.C. State, I actually believe Ingle could have been a solid player, I never did like the Cross commitment.
Isnt that because you think the bama model of player evals doesnt translate to the NFL?
Exactly. I think we're going for guys who are already close to their ceilings right now rather than guys with lots of untapped potential. Alabama players peak at college and that looks to be the model Jeremy Pruitt is going for right now.
For example, Quavarus Crouch is a player we are targeting right now who is the classic guy who just happens to mature faster than his peers so he looks better than them early on but in a few years will be passed up. He's a guy who I don't think will be very good in the NFL but will be probably be solid in college.
Last I checked we arent an NFL team. Ill take Bama model of recruiting and championships all day long. NFL success or lack thereoff hasnt hurt them one bit in the time Saban has been there. We arent here to win Suber Bowls. If we are recruiting players that peak in college and bust after, we still hang banners and wear rings.
Cross would have been a solid nickel corner. He reminded me of Mike Hilton (current Pittsburgh Steeler and former Ole Miss Rebel).
Tanner Ingle was a star that we let loose. He's gonna make a lot of noise at NC State and potentially be a star in the NFL.
Crouch is the guy who I would avoid. Wright looks good.
Crouch is the classic guy who matured faster than his peers and has already reached his athletic ceiling and has little room for growth left.
