Not to say I called it but I called it... Woods wouldnt get legit interest until he camps as will no one else... its Saban 101... he has done that since day 1... it will mean something to have a Vol offer next year... book it.
Yeah, but I think about 99% of Vol Nation would be shocked if they knew back in December that Pruitt and Fulmer et. al. were going to use The Process in year one AND get all this talent and big names. Im still a little shocked.
If these middle tenn kids want to go to OSU so bad, and they have highly commitable offers...I mean if OSU really wants them as bad as they appear to want OSU, then why bother going to work out for UT? This is a curious twist to this situation. 🤔
Either the dudes really aren't wanted that badly by OSU, or they are not as set on OSU as it has appeared..🤔
Right now, in-state 4-stars Woodi Washington and Trey Knox are scheduled to workout with Tennessees staff on June 23. After initially committing to camp, Adonis Oteys plans are up in the air. Wideout Lance Wilhoite is unlikely to camp.
Washington has showcased well at Ohio State and Florida State, with the Buckeyes currently sitting in the catbird seat. However, Washington wants to give Tennessee another look and chance to show Pruitt what he can do this weekend.
Right or wrong I think the show us what you can do, camp for an offer will change the perception of a UT offer. If nothing else, these kids will know a UT offer is earned not handed out like they have been in recent history.
It may hurt us on a player or two short term, but I think it will benefit us in the long term. Both in perception and I believe it will help minimize the busts we had under Butch. Due to the fact the coaches actually visually get to see these guys compete against there peers.
