Is Chico showing any interest in him?

Watched him play last night. You can definitely see the talent, but he had an mixed bag night. Almost no offense for Nolensville in the first half, as Fayetteville got up 21-0 going into halftime. Wharton's arm strength is evident. He overthrew a deep route off balance last night about 45-50 yards in the air. He seemed off on timing and accuracy in the first half. However, in the third quarter he caught fire and threw darts all over the field with two passing td's. They came back with three unanswered scores to make it 21-27 going into the 4th. One of his td's was a roll out back shoulder throw for about 30 yards that was beautiful. The 4th quarter was unfortunately more like the first half, he missed a couple of throws, but the offense in general was bad as the line wasn't giving him any time. They kept him from using his legs last night as well, hardly any yards on the ground. It is good to see that his throwing motion looks much better with a higher release.

Vic was a huge part of the 2014 recruiting class coming together. Even though he didn't work out as a player, he will always be remembered for helping turn around the program for what he did in helping recruiting.

He was definitely a very vocal recruiter for us but I think we would have gotten the other instate guys regardless. I wish his attitude had been different and finished his career at TN. Just as with Hurd we were better off without the locker room drama and BS. We don't need that kind of noise dividing locker rooms and as we saw Kamara should have been getting the touch's Hurd was getting. Definitely one of the biggest mistakes and misuse of a player Butch has had in Knoxville. AK is a potential future Pro Bowler and probable NFL Star in the making. But back to Wharton he's done OK at Cal and was their leading Punt Returner last season and added 28 Receptions. Cal has Justin Wilcox as their new HC and the OC and WR Coach are guys who love throwing it around so he should definitely get his share of catches this season. He is listed as 2nd team WR.Not sure where he would be on the depth chart this season had he stayed in Knoxville but my guess is at best 2nd team but most likely 3rd. He is a Father now so I hope he does well and puts up good numbers for them.

Probably starting in the slot for UT, IMO

This reminds me of the story I remember reading about his recruitment. The summer before Butch came, Vic attended camp at UT. I can't remember if it was VQ or someone on the board who said that Dooley hadn't offered because Vic was very cocky during his time at camp. I don't think his size helped either, but I distinctly remember that. Then, Butch gets the job and immediately offers. I remember thinking that our new coach had done his homework because of the connections that Vic had with the program and with other recruits. It's interesting to see what happened looking back.
