We got one for College Football so lets try it for baseball.

1B
2B- Roberto Alomar
3B- Jones
SS- A-Rod
CF- Griffey Jr.
LF- Bonds
RF- Sosa
C- Piazza

5 Starters

I think it would be safe to say that Mariano would be the closer. Hoffman can be the setup guy.

and who would the manager be?

Where should A-Rod play?

CF - Ken Griffey Jr., even with only having a couple good/healthy years since joining the Reds.

SS- Cal Ripken
P- Roger Clemens
P- Greg Maddux
P- Tom Glavine
P- John Smoltz
P- Randy Johnson
Closer- Trevor Hoffman/ John Smoltz

My Tennessee bias was shown in the college football list and I have to give props to the best trio of pitchers to ever pitch together and show my Braves bias at the same time.

As far as closers, I think you could make an argument for Rivera or Hoffman. Also, although he only closed for about 3 years, John Smoltz was about as dominant as it gets.

During those years Smoltz was a closer he was the best, but Mariano has been great for a long time and has been sucessful in the postseason as well.

Let me clarify. Mike Piazza is one of the worst defensive catchers I have ever seen play, that is why I think Pudge has the clear edge here.

I wasn't dogging your pick, I just think outside of the batter's box he is worthless.

I don't disagree, but I'm not going to discount what he's done with the bat. I'd say he's won more games with his bat than he's lost with his glove.

absolutely. He is one of the best offensive catchers of all time.

Do you really think they would be a better option than Larkin or Ripken?

Definitely better than Ripken IMO. Though Ripken was very consistent and reliable, by the mid 90s his numbers started to slide due to age. His prime was probably the late 80s and very early 90s.

A-Rod has been at 3B for 3 years, he was a much better SS than 3B, he doesn't need to be on the list at the hot corner.

At his best Griffey was a LF.

no, at his best Griffey was a CF. He played that every year until this one.

Wrong. Griffey was a great CF for many years and just moved to Right this year. He has never played left.
