T. Henry was like a bulldozer on the last drive ...I wish we had another one like him! B. Ratliff would have one of the best ever if he had good knees!

Under today's entrance restrictions, Henry would nor make it into Tennessee. Something has to be done to let us take a few of the borderline players or we will never smell another NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I also was there and I hope all of those folks who gave up and headed to the exits will look at it since they missed maybe the greatest event (the fumble) in Tn history....

Those are the same folks who now call the play lucky and complain that UT didn't beat Arkansas badly enough. Probably wanted Fulmer fired at the time, saying "anyone can do better than this."

This is why it is important to be able to run when you have to do it. OB's have bad games but good defenses and physical running games are reliable.

While watching this game last night, I couldn't help but think that I don't beleive that there was a single player on this years team that could have replaced any player on the 1998 team. Not special teams, offense, and certainly not defense. Not one.

The overall talent of the teams from the 90s including strength, speed (especially speed), and intensity are on an entirely different level than today's UT teams. Plus, the 98 team played hard played with pride. It meant something to them to be wearing that Orange jersey.

You may be right. Great second post.

I miss the big pads. We looked meaner and even faster then, and when we had 7 or 8 within 5 yards of the los on D, it looked like there was no room for the O, especially with our disruptions in the backfield with penetration and shooting gaps.

It's too depressing to watch these old UT games when they were really good and seeing how bad they are now, unless I've had a lot of alcohol before watching.

I turned it on and its the first game in 2 years that my family of 5 has sat down and watched till the end. Neyland was rocking. We had some damn football players on that team.

We did the same. That team faced adversity and never quit in the game. Effort creates the breaks.

Agree. But having a couple dozen NFL players in the 2 deep doesn't hurt. Amazing the talent then, compared to the last few years. We have had some talent in specific spots, but everybody blocking, running, catching or tackling on that team seemed like a stud compared to recent years.

That is the truth. Definitely agree on the talent but that team had both talent and determination.

If they didn't have determination Big Al would tune them up. That's one thing we miss. AJ has the potential. We need that guy that will say if yaw'll don't play better I'll fight everyone of you.

Anyone have any idea why CBS cut away from coverage several times and we missed several critical plays? I had forgotten about that happening and can't remember what was going on that CBS was covering. I'm assuming there was breaking news of some sort.

Keep Your Helmet On

"That's just the way we had been coached," Ratliff recalls. "Coach (Phillip) Fulmer said after we finally beat Florida that even the Dallas Cowboys couldn't beat us now.

"I remember Tee threw incomplete on fourth down and the ball goes over. As Tee was coming off the field, I told Tee -- no one believes it, but it's true -- I told Tee, `Keep your helmet on. We'll be right back.' "
