Had forgotten BTO's actual level of butthurt on the Zo issue and why he's been so snarky and in objective on ANYTHING Tyndall related...thanks DB. :salute:

Just read the last page of the Cuonzo to Cal thread. The posts by HBC Butch are classic

wuh oh.. is the honeymoon over? Cal was 16.5 pt favorites at Home over 2-6 CSU Bakersfield and lost tonight. CSU led by as many as 13 before holding on to win 55-52. Cuonzo wtith a classic timeout with 5.9 seconds in the game to draw up the game losing turnover...

btw. CSU Bakersfield currently sits at #345 RPI... out of 350. That'll look good on the NCAA tourney resume.

Of course he did...Enjoy Cal! :neener:

Cal fans are going through what Vol fans experienced with CM. If you want Martin to perform at a high level, then someone must start a petition.

Martin remained calm, cool & collected on the sidelines the entire game.

I was just thinking the other day about how Cal had managed to avoid the early-season super-bad loss that we seemed to always have.

But... If he has a team loaded with talent they might wake up from their Ambien enough to have a decent tourney run at some point!

Get ready Cal fans, there will be plenty of horrible loses throughout the season. That is a specialty of CCM.

Tyndall vs Butler with this weak team impressed me more than almost anything CCM did here.

Agreed. There have been very few headscratchers with Tyndall. Mostly just the effects of a patchwork roster and guys who aren't really ready to play yet.

Effort and solid coaching are there.

Yeah our effort, passion, and energy seems to be a strength. Some of that was lacking from last year's team.

Looking at Bear Insider and it looks like Volnation the past few years. They did say the "hillbillies warned us." I take offense to that.

From Bear Insider:

Martin's "attacking" style
Before the season, Coach described his philosophy as an attacking style on both offense and defense. I did not see that at all last night. Our offense did not play with any urgency, we passed the ball around the perimeter without any purpose (a.k.a. the Ben Braun method), and there were very few instances of attacking the rim. Our defense allowed them to settle in the post with their big guy, or let their PG penetrate and kick. And boxing out on both ends has been atrocious.

So where did the attacking style go? Out the door when Bird got injured? Or has Coach opted for a different strategy?

Response:
During the season, Coach once described his philosophy as playing hard and being aggressive on defense and rebounding and the offense would follow, or would take care of itself, as I remember. Well, it hasn’t and it won’t.

I'm feeling some major deja vu reading that post from the Cal board.
