Carolina is playing their best basketball since the '09 season. Drew quitting could be a case of addition by subtraction. Duke not playing so well over the past few weeks. Not having Irving is a big loss. Winner has inside track for ACC crown. Looks like this should be the first of three meetings this season as they are distancing themselves from the rest of the ACC pack. As a Carolina fan, there's nothing sweeter than winning at Duke. Go Heels!

Battle of the teams whose fanbases are the biggest bandwagons in the country.

I'll buy Duke having bandwagon fans. Hell, their campus would be better served if located in Greenwich, Connecticut. Carolina basketball fan for nearly 33 years now.

Not specifically calling out anyone in this thread. I'm just saying that a lot of Duke shirts/hats have popped up in my area recently along with the disappearance of a lot of UNC apparel.

No offense taken. :)

I hated Roy Williams when he was at Kansas, and I can't stand him now.

These same people are Barn fans this year, were Bama fans last year, and UF fans the year before.

Understood. This is one of the biggest rivalries in college sports. I wish it would get some of the nasty edge back to it that used to be so prevalent; it makes for better games. Roy is recruiting a few more NC kids lately. Maybe the rivalry will mean a little more to them.

Roy needs an elite PG. The likes of which NC hasn't had since Lawson left.

I'm going to be interested to see how well Marshall can do on a regular basis now that he's "the man". He's certainly not the up-tempo, push-the-ball-type of PG that Roy is accustomed to, i.e. Lawson, Felton, Jacque Vaughn. But, he was the top rated "pass first" PG last year in high school. Good size, good vision, maybe more of a Derrick Phelps type, minus the lockdown D. I know it was only FSU, and the ACC as a whole is down this year, but you don't get 16 assists in a game by accident.

Lol at Duke not playing well. I'd be SHOCKED if UNC is within 10 points.

UNC has played some good ball since conference season started. A win over Duke will get them back up in the national scene. I still think Duke wins by around 10.

Wow and LOL at almost all of these Posts. Before i say anything i will say this, I go to NC State (no need to bash the Pack, i know Sidney Lowe is a joke, red Blazer and all) so Tobacco Road is my backyard. Everyone here knows the ACC is between Duke and Carolina every year, sometimes Maryland throws a little bit of trouble in there but its mostly them 2. UNC is what ppl like to call around here the cream of the crop. Duke in the same regard is what people call the one of the Elite. This Rivalry is up there with Michigan v Ohio State in Basketball.. The way this works every year is, Duke takes one and UNC takes one then they meet in the ACC tourney..(hopefully) well this might be the first time in a little while that Duke acutally takes both.. Only reason being. UNC is A. Young, B. inexperienced. and C. They play like they KNOW they are suppose to beat anyone. Dont Get me wrong (as bad as this hurts) UNC is alright. Duke is only missing one piece of the puzzle.. a freshman who was flashy? yes at the beginning of the season but who knows how he would have played vs. FSU or NC State or Clemson, etc.. Duke is Deep in every which way, front court and back court. They have an array of players that can compete. Whenever you got Kyle Singler and Nolan "My feet are ugly as sin" Smith on the court its hard to stop them. Yes they have lost a couple of games but who hasn't? I Got Duke winning Wednesday by 5.. But that last game of the season, its a toss up..

alright, since everyone has the Duke-UNC thing figured out, let's get two things straight, no one really cares about Duke in Connecticut. I think maybe you meant New Jersey, but you probably didn't, you're probably clueless. Secondly, yes it's been a little while since Duke took both games against UNC. It's been a whopping 11 months.

Well, for one thing I never said it had been a while since Duke had won both games. But, since you brought it up, prior to last season, Carolina had won 6 of 8 matchups. As far as campus relocation, anywhere inhabited by a majority of uppity, self-righteous yuppies would be a prime locale for Duke.

did I ever say you were the one that said it's been a while since Duke took both games? as far as the 6 of 8 goes, which team has won 9 of the last 12 ACC titles?

I hate Duke slightly more than UNC, but I'd love to see UNC be the recipient of a beatdown. Who should I root for?

I can't wait for this tomorrow. I am lucky that I will once again be one of the 9,314 at Cameron tomorrow night. It should be a good game, in most cases the records don't matter. Carolina is playing much better ball the last 3 weeks, but having Singler and Smith at home will be too much for the Heels. I would love nothing more than to see Barnes and BullOCK get abused tomorrow night.

Go To Hell Carolina, Go To Hell.

I envy you; for being at the game, not for being a Duke fan. This would be on my bucket list. Go Heels!

I was at last year's annihilation of Carolina in Cameron. Gave me the chance to check off an item in my bucket list, but it left me wanting to go back again and again. The Duke-Carolina rivalry is something special. I've been a fan since I idolized Bobby Hurley as a kid.
