SEC only has 1 legitimate shot, right now, at a sure CFP berth, that’s with an SEC CG with unbeaten Ga vs once beaten Alabama. If Bama loses 2 or Ga loses 1 in reg season, they’re both probably out. Watch how this plays out. You saw some of it last week.

So both need to lose in my opinion. Could be a way to let the SEC know that they need to stop protecting certain teams and let the best teams win.

Reflecting on the season thus far, Vols could be 9-0 heading to Mizzou. Had Mays been healthy for the UF game, we probably win that one. Had the officiating been "equitable"(for lack of a better word), we had a decent chance to beat Bama.

Sounds too much like the „moral victories“ of the Butch years IMO. I appreciate what you are trying to say; but you are what your record says you are. Speculating on what might have been just causes pointless angst.
The season is basically two thirds over. Just enjoy the remaining games and hope for the upset of the year against Georgia.
Tennessee is relevant again and no one is able to count us as an automatic win. Back to back 11 win seasons are possible which is nothing short of a miracle

Moral victories? Um, very pissed they lost at Florida and at Bubba. Play halfway better in 2 quarters and they win those games....

We got spoiled last year, and Milton just isn't Hooker. That said, he's playing better, and we're not what we were under previous coaches, thankfully. If we don't score fiddy, and blow people out, we're upset with just a win . Yeah, it sucks being nervous at Kentucky, but we've had those games even under Fulmer there, but we won. We've had some close wins this year, but those would've been losses under the previous coaches.

I think the coaching job by the staff this season has been great (and it was great last season, too). This team has some clear deficiencies, but the players are getting better and the coaches have good schemes to put them in the best positions to succeed.

I wonder how much the sign stealing has helped other teams against us. It is an area where our coaches need to be extra vigilant IMO.

One last thing. Officiating at Alabama was a difference in that game.
