2 decommitments

Is that cause for concern? Down to 16 commits. Hopefully they de-committed b/c we need their spots for better guys that have committed to the staff.

Thoughts?

Defensive end committed since May, Obogo.

Well, you got the O right. It's Okonya, and both "decommits" were more or less informed they no longer had offers. Dirty part of the business, and not one I'm fond of, but with the "win now, or else" approach college coaches are held to, I understand why it is necessary.

I will say this, I am greatly impressed with the level of maturity and character in which Marshall and Okonya responded to the news. They took the high road that is often neglected by teenagers who have taken a shot to their pride and ego. Kudos to those young men whose attitudes, along with their on-field talents, will lead them to great situations. Your parents should be proud.

It is an upgrade on both commitments. Their schollys were revoked because of upgrades that are happening. These 2 will not be the last ones. Look for more to come. Recruiting is a business and it is unfortunate for these kids that they are a part of the bad end of the business.

OK so, aside from these guys losing their offers, this is a good thing?

Henderson and Blakely?

Blakely more so than Henderson. They seem to like Henderson enough to keep him on board. Blakely was questioned from the time his commitment was taken. We took it as an insurance purpose. I know it is sad and I wish the best for the guys but if you want to win championships you have to get the best players possible.

Yes. It is an upgrade trust me. Come Signing Day no one will be disappointed. I wish the kids best and hope they ball out but CBJ is in on some big targets

10-4. I hope the class cracks the top 10. I think all our classes to be top 10 is we are to compete year in and out.

Business decisions when kids are offered so far in advance of signing day. Both will find homes on someone's roster.

I heard from a reliable source (my dentist's mistress's cousin dates a GA for the Vols) that Butch pulled Chidi and Tadarryl's schollies because he found out that they drink appletinis. TIFWIW

I don't get the parting of ways with Chidi Okonya. He is almost 6'7" 250lb and runs a 4.71 40, and he is also a 4* prospect! I understand the TaDarryl Marshall thing more, but Okonya was an absolute monster! Who replaces him??

None of those stats are overly impressive minus the height. Our newest commit is bigger and faster
