Man last night they were doing great on ball reversals. That's something they didn't do at Xavier and really vs USC upstate. Barton, Thompson and Richardson are really good on ball defenders. If stokes and Maymon can lock down the paint, like they haven't done, then we will be straight. This team come SEC play is going to look completely different than it does right now.

starting backcourt continues to play tremendously, 3/5 from 3 and 4 assists to 1 turnover tonight...very impressive.

Agree. Still need improvements in many areas. But this looks more like a team after each game we've played.

As MemphisCane pointed out, I'm interested in seeing how we perform against our next solid opponent.

UTEP will actually be a good test for us, not the best team talent wise but we should get a better picture of the vols then. I feel like we're expecting an easy win against UTEP, but I think they will challenge us more than we think - UTEP is picked to finish 2nd in their (weak) conference, so we can't overlook that. Can't wait till next week, we got about 4 days to prepare, let's do work in B4A.

Also, it's funny how I only see the "regular posters" when reasonable topics come up and all the unreasonable posters stop posting.

UTEP will tell us how much we've truly improved from Xavier. I'm excited

I knew Barton would be an upgrade over Trae, but the gap is a lot bigger than I expected.

Barton is definitely an upgrade. We don't need our PGs to penetrate like Trae was good at, we need our guards to defend and make the 3 to keep our defenses honest. Definitely a good fif for our system.
