Okay, so a little hyperbole ( probably the first use of it on Volnation!) on the "only competitive" remark. I'll own that. I guess my concern is more about the progression of the program. In my mind, we lose a lot of talent on both sides of the ball next season. Will the expectations next season be higher, lower or about the same as this year. And yes, i realize we have a lot of ball left to play this year. Just watching the PSU game last night got me thinking.

actually, I thought we only had about ten seniors on the whole team (RS included)...a couple juniors may declare, but this is "still" a young talented team...the experience gained by backups from all the injuries will help...can assure you the expectations will be high again...that won't change...

Butch Jones has taken a program that spent the previous five years unranked. While mildly competitive in 2009 we regressed to a.point in the Dooley era where we went something like 5 consecutive games without scoring an offensive touchdown. Our last bowl WIN before CBJ was in January 2008 and we only went to 2 bowls between that win and January 2015.

So far this season we are 5-2 with wins over UF and UGA who haven't beaten in the same season since 2004.

I would say the progression of the program has been pretty good.
