but i thought Hubbs was "D.Wade with a better jumper" after reading this board earlier in the year. I hope Hubbs does well but its obvious he needs time to develop, i can't see him being a factor until his junior year.

Not that many players get a 5* rating but a true 5* should be a one and done player. None of the three 5* kidsthat have played for the Vols the last few years are or were legit .

20+ players were 5 stars last year. Idk where you get that info from. Name all the 5 star players from last season that went 1 and Done. Also Stokes and doing pretty well and Tobias is in the league soooo.

Please show me that quote? Coach K and most posters here COMPARED his game to D.Wade. Don't be a babbling idiot that we know you to be.

Its not a knock on the kid ,I have w problem with the evaluators . If 5* is your highest rating then that player better bring morr to the table a great body(Stokes) or great atheletism(Hopson).

But to say true 5* should be 1 and done is blasphemous. Hubbs has played 8 games everybody relax. He was never seen as a 1 and done player anyways. The elvauators called him a 5* because of his skill and potential. He earned it. Doesn't mean he's a bust.

Nowhere does it say if rated a 5* expect one and done. Not every 5* is a one and done, it's that simple.

And that is exactly what his game like. No one was saying that as a college freshman he was going to be as good as a nba hall of famer.

Get a life, troll.

So does that mean you agree that he's D.Wade with a better jumper?

That is the type of game he has. Is he better than Dwayne Wade as a college fresh? No.

The same way people compare Looney to Durant. Does that mean Looney is better than Durant? F no. However, the way they play the game is similar.

As I said before, get a life.

Austin Nichols was a 5 star- is he a one and done? How long did D Wade play in college? You lost all credibility when you thought you knew our roster better than we did. Move on.

Wade actually didn't even play as a freshman. He was a Prop 48.

Honestly I have no idea what you are referring to. Nichols was a 4* and he's playing better than expected but what does that have to do with Hubbs?

I'm not trolling, just wish some of you guys would temper your expectations of freshmen.

I'm pretty sure most in here are completely fine with where Hubbs is at this point.

You're the one starting ish by bringing up something and twisting it to troll.

I'm not sure MC would even do that. Your trolling, plain and simple.

Well, lets see. This link disagrees about Nichols.

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2013 Memphis Commitments

What you are inferring is that Hubbs is not as good as. 5 star, and I give you Nichols. He is good, but he isn't one and done good. Also, Nichols has to play at Memphis because of their front court depth. Hubbs is at best the 6th man this year. Finally, maybe your memory is bad, but you tried to come on here and tell us that we lost Devin Mitchell when we wouldn't take his commitment after taking Austin. Memphis fans thought we were crazy when in fact, our roster was loaded with 1-3 players after this year. So, again, don't come on here and act like that.

I never stated Hubbs wasn't 5* material, so i am kind confused by your accusation. I was only asking UT's to be patient, us memphis fans know all about 5* players needing time to mature and develop ( see JJ & Adonis Thomas).

As far as that goes, does anyone know where Whicitia State is?

I know Wichita's in Kansas. I think Glen Campbell's still a lineman there. But, I have no idea where Whicitia is. It may be just a state of mind, if you know what I mean :toast:

Hubbs is one of those guys who needs to start . Some guys don't do well coming off the bench . Once he moves into the starting line up next season he will blow up . He just hasn't gotten a rhythm coming off the bench. He is uber talented though
