When I was 8, I remember being mesmerized by Steve Alatorre's performance in our epic Garden State Bowl victory.
Strange. I have always assumed you were older than I am.

Actually, now that I think about it, I had just turned 9. We're about the same age.

Finally got around to reading this l o n g article. While I don't agree with alot of what was said, kinda like comparing apples to oranges. I think that the article is right on when you talk about the coaches and how they coached. If a kid wants to go to the NFL he has to be well coached and well disciplined. In Philip Fulmer's coaching tenure this has not been accomplished. If you look at the players who are or have been in the NFL you will see some similiarities that I just mentioned, they were well coached and were very well disciplined. Either this was a product of their High School coaches, College coaches or their Parents and most likely a combination of all of the above. IMO, UT needs to improve its coaching staff on a regular basis. As in any business, and believe me this is a business, if you don't get the job done...you move on. Is it Moving Day for the UT Football Staff?

i thought the post was interesting no doubt.if we would have won a seccg they would be talking about how great of a coach he is and now we have one bad year its all about how bad he sucks.the only thing im worried about is if we can rebound after a losing season.if i recall nebraska still hasnt rebounded.thats the only thing im worried about.if we do have another losing season then i wished they make a change before the rock bottom gets deeper

and that's the thing isn't it? hope is high at Neb this season, as most think they should win the Big 12 north this year....but does that mean they're back? probably not since most would agree that OK and TX are the best in that conf.

a comparison could be made to the SEC as most think Aub and LSU are the true contenders for the SEC, but UF is supposedly the favorite this year for the East....

as to how we fit in, is anybody's guess....it's going to be extremely interesting this year in the SEC, and i hope we're in the middle of it.....

As for when do we, if we do, make a change, i think you have to look at trends....last year was, technically, the only "bad" season we've had under Fulmer. the so callend "nega vols" will tell you, and there is evidence that supports this, that the decline has been coming, and last year was the culmination of what has been happening since the 01 season or before. the other side of the coin, the so called "fulmerites" will tell you that it was only two years ago that we were competing with Auburn for the SEC title, so it's not near as bad as some would have you think. and they are equally justified, as we were in fact in the SEC title game only two years ago.

that's why to me anyway, the next two years are so important. CPF has earned the right to fix the problem. If he can't, it will be proven out in the coming seasons.....

we havent won a SEC championship since 1998 and since 2000(i think) Fulmer is 21-21 against teams .500 or better.
