Sadly, being a UT grad and a longtime Vol fan, I hate to admit that we have fallen out of the top echelon of football schools in the past few years and the above mentioned programs have more prestige and a move by an assitant coach from UT to one of those programs would definitely be an upward move.
(Goodnite, you are beginning to bore me with your drivel.) :snoring:
As usual, no substance to the argument. Tell us again about how Don Shula recommended Joe Kines.

The biggest problem I have with the defense is the secondary, and that probably more a reflection on Fulmer then Chavis. Fulmer's friendship with Slade is probably the reason we didn't see a new secondary coach in 06.

I don't think the secondary was the fault of anyone, I just think they were young. If they're still bad this year, then I might agree.

You want facts. Check the defensive stats the past two years: Bama vs. UT, and tell me who is the most effective defensive DC, Chavis or Kines? I am talking about the present, not 15-20 years ago when Joe was at Arkansas or Georgia.

As they say in your profession: "res ipsa loquitur". :birgits_giggle:

Glad to see you are capable of only superficial analysis. I would hope a team that plays Alabama's nonconference schedule, as well as the two Mississippi schools would put up pretty statistics. 15-20 years? I'm also glad to see you have a poor grasp of time. Kines was the coordinator at UGA under Donnan. If you're going to debate, at least attempt to bring the facts and an accurate view of the situation, not what you want it to be. Please, I want to hear more about how tight Don Shula and Joe Kines are.

Before last years debacle, the only team with more wins over the past decade was FSU, and they only had us by one game.

Here's a real fact: Chavis and Kines have matched up 8 times as defensive coordinators. Tennessee is 7-1 in those games. Tell that to Old Man Shula.

Hey Hat, how about the time you were supposed to be partying with the Dophin players on South Beach but your time line of posts showed you to be right by your computer. :biggrin2: Maybe you have a Blackberry that you use tokeep us informed while you are boogying down. :peace:

If you're referencing the evening of Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals, I think I made it quite clear I had stopped by the hotel to take a shower and wanted to check in with my VN bretheren. Also, I've never claimed that I partied with any of the Dolphins. The guys I know are primarily former 'Canes.

Sure. :haha_oh:

How 'bout the time you even suggested that Andy Kelly was (is) a better quarterback than the great Peyton Manning? :bad: This implies a cognitive impairment that needs further evaluation. :biggrin2:

I understand that the University of Miami has great neurospinal disease research program, possibly the best in the world. Maybe you could get some help there. I don't think anyone does frontal lobotomies anymore. Too bad. :biggrin2:

(Forgive me Hat, fellow Vol Fan for toying with you, but you've been so mean to so many VolNationers, that I couldn't resist. I won't pester you anymore.) :mf_surrender:

Unless there's some reason that championships mean less than pretty individual stats that I'm not aware of, I'll take Kelly's 2 SEC titles over Manning's cute little school records every time.

And besides, I might need a lawyer in the Miami area someday, as my wife and I ocasionally visit the Key Biscayne area to see the professional tennis tourney at Crandon Park. (Never can tell when you might get thrown in jail for wearing a camoflague baseball cap with an orange "T" on it.) :devilsmoke:

Give me a head's up next time you're going to be in town. I'll give you and Mrs. Rockydoc the official Hatvol96 tour of the 305.
