2009 early BIG board

If you had ever worked with people with developmental disabilities you might not be so quick to throw that term "retarded" out there like that. I know some people may annoy us, but let's refrain from that.

from a VT blog...
Q: Where do the hokies stand with 5 star LB Jelani Jenkins?
A: Jelani Jenkins is a really quite kid so its really hard to get a read on where he wants to go or where he may be favoring. It seems like he had a good visit to Virginia Tech last week but I still see him heading elsewhere. I think UVA has a good chance at him and I think Stanford has a good chance because of their academics. However if we can get him back on campus for an official visit anything is possible.

there are rumors floating around that the Vols will sign as many as 30 guys because some of our current players that are buried on the depth chart will transfer. before you ask, no, I dont know who they are. LWS may have some insight.

By Y Porter. Gabriel Hunter committed to Ole Miss. It came down to Ole Miss and Alabama, and Hunter felt that Ole Miss was recruiting him harder than everyone else and he got along well with the coaches. Ole Miss plans to use him everywhere on the field.

What are the odds we land Marlon Brown? I have heard 90% and I've heard a "Very Unlikely" I also heard he like Nunes.....Any info on the matter?

I think it comes down to us and USC with UGA and UF on the outside looking in. Pretty sure most people see it coming down to USC and UT. Although, some people think UGA is a strong possibility.

I think we can get him. He's only for sure visits right now are UT and USC. so i would say, that obviously puts us out front. atleast i'd think.

I read where Dominique Allen is now reconsidering his commitment to Tennessee. If he doesn't want to come to Knoxville then offer a scholarship to some of these instate players that are sure fire qualifiers and highly rated.

OL Brandon Thomas (6-4 285) of Dorman committed to Clemson in July and is 80% sure that Clemson is the school for him. But he is still hearing from Tennessee and USC and said Sunday he intends to take official visits to each as well as Clemson. "Clemson is close to home and my mom likes it. They make me feel like a part of the family out there," Thomas said. He has taken a couple of unofficial visits to USC already and has met with offensive line coach John Hunt. "I've been down there (Columbia) and met with the coaches and players. Coach (John) Hunt seems like a cool guy. It's pretty nice there. I liked the campus." Still, Thomas said he is firm on his commitment with Clemson. He is currently working on getting stronger and improving his technique and footwork. He also has offers from North Carolina, Maryland, Vanderbilt, NC State, Virginia, and Kentucky.
