AMAZING to me that you can say that and rightfully look at your Avatar.

I love Strasburg as much as the next guy but at least Heyward played since opening day. Strasburg has played in what, 6 games? Tough stretch no matter who you root for. Plus, Heyward was voted in as a starter. Strasburg would have to have been added by Manuel.

Heyward has been one of the big reasons especially early on that the Braves now hold a 4 game lead on the NL east. His play early steadied an otherwise anemic offense till they slowly started to come around. There is no comparison what the two players have meant to their teams. Two months from now maybe its a different story. I am not so sure Heyward deserved it either. That being said if the Braves did not have Heyward early on they would not be in first place. I love Strasburg but less than ten games does not in my opinion make one worthy of an allstar appearance. ONE MORE INNING COME ON NL.

Considering Manuel added Omar Infante and started Ryan Howard, I didn't have much hope. I'm okay with Strasburg not being in... he'll have his time.

Juan Uribe has played since opening day, too. Compare their stat lines.

Heyward will be an all star for years to come. and I think he's better than a .250 hitter. Discredit Strasburg all you want, heyward hasn't been all world.

By the way, I love Heyward. Love what the Braves are doing. hate the phils and mets. Not trying to butt heads, just getting my opinion out there. Tyler Colvin has outplayed Heyward.

Back to topic: Broxton is bottom 5 guys in the league I would want to fight. Bottom 2 maybe.

Come on guys. It was a good play, but everyone knew Ortiz is getting thrown out on a bloop to shallow right with one out.

Flare hit to right field and rather than come in and dive for it, he pulled up and played it on a short hop and then spun and threw to 2nd base to force out the runner.

if "the runner" was Ortiz, I'm less impressed.

A rod had a nice game.

Dude after losing 13 straight years I don't care if Jabba the hut was going first to second that was a huge f ing play PERIOD.

With the addition of the rule that you can bring a player back in extra innings I say you have to pinch run for Ortiz there as the lead runner, for things like that. Or a double play ball.

The lack of speed definitely helped, but it took a very athletic play and accurate throw to get him. The amazing part was that he basically had to do a 180 and come up throwing.

Or just plain good baseball management. The good thing is he left a hall of famer on his bench.
