Stanley to USC??? That stinks. He looked like a beast on film and I was looking forward to seeing him play in Orange and White... Good luck to him and GBO!!!!

He is a DT, not DE. I do agree that he will still need to bulk up a bit

Any word of whether or not we have some surprises to replace Stanley and freakin' Copeland?
Which by the way, if Copeland was calling our staff during his visit to LSU he was flat out lying;
I prefer the guy to be like Stanley who said he was unsure than saying he's all Vol and then back out.

Think not having Smith as a DL Coach and the announcement of a DC may have changed their thoughts? I do.

1. Crump is Stanley's replacement.
2. How do you know he was lying?? I think spouting off like that is uncalled for really. As of last night, things looked good for Copeland. These are 18 year old kids that change their minds quick. It happens, don't bash them for it.

Not as much as you might think. Chuck Smith has never recruited, doesn't mean he won't become a great one, but he needed to take the test and sending a guy with no communication with these prospects and has never done it is not a good idea. Chuck is a great coach, and should be a good recruiter down the road.

I think not having a DL coach hurt with several prospects.

Guys, do we really have a shot at Christian Jones?? Was wandering why he was on this list?

It would be wonderful considering how the morning has gone so far, but I don't see it. It would definitely qualify as a signing day surprise.........

He didn't need to recruit as much as the announcement of his hire was confirmed. All the speculation of his hire versus the hiring of him. As for the DC we do a lot of damage to ourselves by questioning our own hires. That just the way it goes.

As for the quote above in the fix to the recruiting thread. Think this is fact or fiction? A troll or not? I have the faith that CDD and the staff will get what they need to fix this program. Patience will be the key and add tolerance.

Can we get Copeland moved to the bottom of the list? Seeing his name next to players that are all Vol is sickening.

I agree. Known but not confirmed. Leaked but not validated. I do not understand why we waited to confirm or not. DC I can live with but this one was one I really questioned.

1. Quit with the sky is falling already. It's early. Yes Copeland was a surprise, but those who follow this religiously know that losing Ambles and Stanley was likely to happen.

2. Ralph Williams to Ole Miss and rumor Delvin Jones to follow him there.

3. Christian Jones WILL NOT end up at UT. No chance.

4. If we pull Stone and Rogers like it's reported, it's not a bad day. Yeah we won't have the drama of stealing big names at the end ala Richardson (who really panned out) and Jackson last year, but it's still a solid class. AND we did get Da'Rick, who has the potential to be a BEAST!
