Great chance of landing:

Richardson
Arnett
Wright
Orta (if we want him)
Clear (I know he's not a 4 on ESPN...but he is on Rivals and Scout and since he's only a 45 on ESPN I think it means they just haven't offically rated him yet)

Good chance of landing:
M. Johnson

Darkhorse for landing:
Rasco
Rome

That's 8 plus I think we'll land Paul (a high 3 who I see getting bumped)...

If that all falls into place I don't know how we're not easily in the top 15

Couch will most likely be a 4star.

JC Shurbert said he has a chance of a 5th star.

Who are the 20 that ESPN has commited to the Vols? I thought there were only 19 committed?

Gunner

The most suprising thing to me about the list is that UNC, a program on the verge of sanctions exceeded only by SMU's death penalty days, is pulling a top 15 class.

We need to be in the top ten again. Until that happens, I ain't celebrating.

So if we landed at 12th instead of 10th...on a ranking that is based off of player ratings that are based off of subjective opinions...you would consider this class a failure?

If we finished at 7th in the conference, would you consider that to be a success?

Let's say 12th overall but 7th in the conference...that means that we're likely within a few spots of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th in the conference...

If that's the case and all that's really separating us from the other big teams in the conference is the subjective opinion of a group of guys who mostly have never played college football before....then yes, I consider the class a success

Disclaimer: This 12th place finish would need to include 2 more OL's and at least 2 more DT's for me to call it a true success

Thanks. Always like opinions that come with reasons.

Here is one of the dumbest things about these 'rankings and stars' arguments. People freak out saying 'oh no we only finished 16th and there were 6 other SEC teams ahead of us' or whatever. So they think that some kind of horrible news. Look, the classes at the very top of the rankings (i.e. #1-5) can usually separate themselves from a standpoint from the rest of the classes. But once you get down the rankings the subjectivity of the rankings results in there basically being no difference between the next group of schools in the rankings. Oh no we finished with the #16 class and UGA finished with the #12 class. We are doomed! You seriously think the difference between two classes each from #10-#20 means anything? If you re-rank the classes once they have been in school for 4 years you really think that classes in the #10-#20 range will be consistently the same? Yeah, usually the #1-5 classes are going to be near the top still when you rank them 4 years down the road. But you think they nail the difference between each schools ranking from #10-20? Honestly, come on!
