Dunno. Panthers and bengals are both predicted to go qb

Well, the Titans can take Carson Palmer when the Bengals cut him.

I don't see how the Panthers can justify taking two QBs last year and then spend another $50 million or so in guaranteed money on yet another QB.

I'm not sure how much a team should want Palmer. He may very well just be done.

Yeah the Panthers are an interesting case. It could just be a case of being the top pick so taking the best player available.

What could be the case is that they, like the eagles, trade away a young qb they had originally (and recently) drafted to be their future. You could see a team who looked stupid for not taking a quarterback last season-like the Vikings for example- in a position to trade for / get a qb they passed on last year (Clausen) or another who was high prospect (kolb).

Could be a golden opportunity for them or a team like them (especially considering how many weapons they have in place on offense to make it easier developing a new guy)

A lot of word seems to center around whether or not Champ Bailey comes back. If not, there are several CB predictions.

You have to think though that with how poorly their defense played this last season, it is going to be a defensive pick.

I might can give some insight on Denver.

The situation with Bailey doesn't look promising. If they do re-sign him, he will probably be moved from cornerback to safety to prolong his career. If they don't re-sign him, Denver probably will go after Peterson with the second pick. I think they may also look at Fairley, Bowers, or some others with the second pick.

Also, rumors are circulating that if Luck comes out Denver will trade up to get him. I don't see this happening, but the Luck/Elway/Stanford connection is flaming the fire. Luck will probably stay for his senior year, but if he does come out, Carolina will get him. There is also the rumor about Elway talking to Harbaugh for the head coaching job at Denver, but that is another story.

Denver may also trade the second pick for more picks. I would be ok with this, if they use those picks on defense. If they don't, I will be outraged. The defense has been atrocious over the years, yet it keeps getting ignored in the offseason. The team won't get any better until they fix the defense.

Unfortunately, the Raiders had one of their best seasons in years.

Would have been nice to have a top 10 pick.

hasn't they already tricked enough teams into giving up top 10 picks? :p

Nope.

14-2 teams always need more draft picks.

Everyone laughed at BB last year for all of his crazy draft trades. Now he looks like a mad genius.

Yeah, most of what I heard you pretty much covered in the first paragraph.

I'm a bit strained to see them taking Luck (which you seem to agree)...really not only because they just spent a 1st round pick (and 1st round money) on Tebow, but he really seems like he has been playing well enough to be worth a shot at starting, hasn't he?

I can see how the whole Stanford connection would lead to that rumor with that fanbase though

it's one thing to trade for a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders

but multiple top 10 picks - especially without a rookie limit - just tend to lead to multiple real large contracts, that eventually lead to salary issues (mainly money availability) later on

BB isn't stupid.

Knowing him, he'll probably trade those picks for something to his benefit. Almost every draft pick from last season is immediately contributing.

I strongly dislike BB and the Pats but they're one of the best if not the best coached and best run franchise in the NFL. They probably have their eyes on one or two guys and, if they're not available, they'll trade down for a plethora of picks from a desperate team.

Definately. He is still very raw as a pocket passer, but he is a playmaker and will only get better. The kid is a winner, and he deserves at least a full season to show what he can do.

oh i never thought he was

was just kind of towards your idea which initially had seemed a bit (to me) more either "the more top 10 picks the better" or "picking in the top 10 every year's a good thing." I might have misinterpreted it a bit

Yeah, he's playing well enough that I agree there. It honestly would not be in the team's best interests to draft another quarterback, especially in the 1st round.

In general, I was referring to draft picks. BB would trade top ten picks for two more picks and so forth. By 2020 the Patriots would own the entire draft.

People were crucifying him for trading away their first pick for two others. (They passed up Dez Bryant and a few other players) Of course, a lot of fans wanted Kyle Wilson and he drafts McCourty. Everyone shakes their head and says this must be some connection with Schiano at Rutgers. Months later, McCourty is the league leader in interceptions.

Regardless, the Pats don't have a top ten pick, and won't have one. He will find the players he needs. You have to go all the way to the 6th round before you find someone who isn't starting and contributing.

McCourty 7 picks
Gronkowski 546 yds 10 TD's
Hernandez 563 yds 6 TD's
Spikes 61 Tackles
Mesko starting P

Even Brandon Deaderick and Jermaine Cunningham are contributing.

And they will be as long as BB is there.
