2011 NFL OROY and DROY

I don't think there's anyway it can't/won't be Cam. He's having an amazing season. His team isn't great and you can't fault him for it. They wouldn't have the 5 wins they do if Clausen were the starter

Cam Newton will definitely be the OROY. As for DROY, if they gave out the award today I would give it to Von Miller. However, if Aldon Smith keeps playing at the level he is playing at now, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win it.

Miller has played exceptionally well, but hasn't he missed a couple of games? I wonder if that would hurt his chances.
As for OROTY, it's Cam's to lose. He's about to be the only QB to ever throw for 4,000+ and run for 500+ in a season.
Dalton is good, but he isn't even the most deserving rookie on his team. AJ Green is disgustingly good.
I wonder how often the two ROTY winners reflect the first two picks in the draft.

Wouldn't that make him the first rookie to do 4000? I believe PM holds the record at like 3800.

He only lacks 39 yards for PMs record and like Panthro said, he can easily post 4000 yards passing and over 500 yards rushing before the end of the season.

I still can't believe how well he's done...

Smith has put up comparable numbers with something like 300 fewer snaps than Miller.

I'm not arguing with you, I just think Miller's consistency over the entire season with his impact on that D will give him the nod. It's going to be an interesting few weeks to see who can close out the season on a strong note because Smith has certainly closed the gap. OROY is pretty much a lock at this point, I'd imagine...

He's put up similar sack totals. Did you ever think to yourself, why is Smith playing 300 fewer snaps? Why would I not want the guy who is versatile enough to be on the field at all times? Is Von Miller's run stopping and coverage abilities not a plus?

Without context, the 300 fewer snaps is a negative thing, not a positive, unless you only care about sacks per snap.

It's obvious we can't detach ourselves from our favorite teams. :)

Your points are definitely valid. I guess we'll have to wait it out and watch these next two weeks.
