Agree 100%...We need a shooter badly as well as a big man underneath but he would be a good pickup.

Umm... Renaldo is NOT a dunker... LMAO[/

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Oh really? What the hell you call this? Please enlighten me. Dude can put it down about anyway you want it, unfortunately he can't do anything else, thus making him useless. Thus not making me excited to see tapes of recruits dunking 90% of the time. We need shooters, not 45 inch verticals.

LMAO.

If you have been to the RTL games, you know that he is probably around the middle of the pack from last years team in dunking ability. Lester Wilson would Crush Renaldo in a dunk contest... I'm not saying he can't put together a highlight video that is impressive. He is not really an "above the rim" player when its go-time though. He is far too soft to be considered a "dunker" IMO. I guess it all depends on your definition of a "dunker." If it is simply someone who has the ability to dunk then I agree with you. If it is someone who will take it to the rack in impressive fashion in an in-game scenario, he is far from a dunker IMO. Melvin, Scotty, and Cam are far more impressive dunkers. McRae is the best dunker on our team, you just haven't had the chance to see it yet. I assure you, McRae has mad hops and can do about any dunk you could think of. Highlight video's don't show you the consistency a player can pull off dunks. You put Renaldo in a dunk contest, and give him 30 seconds to finish a dunk with a high degree of difficulty and odds are he'd finish without completing it.

note: I cannot link to youtube from work, so I do admit that my opinion and post are without viewing the video. If it is anything like his video coming out of HS where he was dunking on teams consisting of 5'10" white kids... lol

I like Renaldo and think he has the body and the potential to be a great player one day. I honestly don't think he will peak until well after his career at UT is over. I could see him making a D-league roster and actually making a squad as a poor man's Rashard Lewis in 3-5 years.

IMO, I think Woolridge could be a great dunker this year with good coaching. That doesn't mean it'll happen, but it just consists of utilizing his strength (which he has) to finish. It's a(n?) unique art; I think he just needs some guidance. Perhaps most importantly, he needs to be able to dunk sufficiently with two hands. I don't think it's a stretch to say that close to 50% of his dunk attempts in his college career were blocked because he was going up with one hand in traffic.

Why would a coach spend any time making someone a better dunker? That's the least of his problems.

Hahahaha!!! Right now I agree. I think physically, he has the potential to be one day though. This post really cracked me up. I haven't heard Rashard Lee's name in a minute. lol!!!

Honestly, I could care less who can dunk the best. Given the choice, I'd take a fundamentally sound group of non-dunkers over a bunch of jacklegs who try alley-oops when they're down 10 midway through the second half.
