It's amazing the struggles they are having. Their hand is slowly creeping toward the panic button. No hitting, no pitching, no defense. Fascinating to watch in person. Pfeifer pitched extremely well. But they only got 2 innings from their starter, who got touched up for 5 runs. Seems to be no accountability on that team.

That's some last sentence... wow.

For Tennessee that SOS will begin to climb rapidly once conference play begins.

No doubt. RPI this early is very misleading. Overall record of opponents is very important and the fact Tenn swept 2 of them makes that figure work against them. It will all work itself out with conference wins.

Western Illinois has given the Georgia Dawgs their 2nd loss defeating them 7-4.

Excellent news is right now the Canes are leading the Gators 5-3 in the top of the 8th. The Gators have 2 on with two out.

Still early in the Clemson Tigers Gamecocks game with the Gamecocks leading 4-3 in the top of the 4th.

And they'll remember the Horror of it. Allowed the Gators to hang around, and did not score enough.

At least the UG Bulldogs, and Gamecocks lost.

The Kentucky Wildcats at home easily embarassed a two win Illinois Chicago Flames team Scoring in 6 of 8 innings only the 4th, and 5th did they fail to score winning convincely 20-0 hitting the ball 19 times. The Flames only able to produce 2 hits.
With the win the UK Wildcats remain undefeated 11-0.
Is this a mirage, or is this something that The Wildcats can keep up for the rest of the season. That will get answered when division games start.

Guess we'll find out March 23, if not before.:)

Candy falls to 4-8 with a loss to Belmont! I am not sure they have what it takes to rebound from this start. Very poor offensive team.

Hope they don't but with how poor the Georgia Bulldogs looked to start 2011 but still was able come back you can't count a team out.
Major concern for them if they can't win a division series in the first 3 weeks.

I am not very familiar with the Georgia team of a year ago but this Vandy team has a real issue offensively. I think they will find a way to pitch at a high SEC level but there isn't one bat in that lineup that is more than a singles threat IMO. They won't score enough runs to rebound from this start IMO. I see them somewhere 6-10 when its a ll said and done.

The offense will come around. I have no issues with the fact that Harrell and Gregor(their two power guys) aren't swinging it right now. They have enough leadership at the plate that people will begin to follow suit. They aren't going to blow people out, but they have pieces there to win games at the plate. The real unnerving thing is their defense. The errors seem to be very contagious, as are most things in baseball. The Belmont game saw Riley Reynolds make his first error in almost a year, and saw him drop a fly ball that really should have been an error. Its very atypical of a Corbin lead team.

They also don't have consistent pitching. Their staff leader, Will Clinard hasn't gotten to pitch his role because they haven't been winning. Once Clinard starts racking up saves, I think you might see a little more consistency out of that whole staff. Or if Ziomek can embrace his role as the Friday guy and begin to pitch like we know he can, then things might level out. Until then, I really like our chances of finishing above them.

I understand your point but Harrell and Gregor are good pieces of a puzzle if they are 6-7 hitters not 3-5 hitters. Those two guys are not talented enough to be big bat leaders of an successful offense IMO.

The UK Wildcats could be undefeated before the division games start.
The Gators must have been sweating 1 run victory.

At home still it was not a dandy weekend for Vandy.

The UG Dawgs are in the Doghouse the Bruins made it their home away from home sweeping the Bulldogs.

This is without a doubt the best gator team ever.

They have to do it on the field and prove it, but there are no holes

Kentucky hosts South Carolina this weekend.

SC is tons better but the Gamecocks have yet to leave the state to this is their first road trip. They have not exactly been blowing people out.

I suspect UK will be in last place after this weekend. They may be there with us but they'll be there.
