By the way, nothing is more fun than tracking a guy through the minors. You have no idea on my man crush for Edward Salcedo, and he is hitting .260 right now.

This. I usually always catch the minor league recap on talking chop. I think Salcedo and Bethancourt will both be good.

I am usually more inteigued by the international signings the Braves make.

Salcedo has disappointed me. Wren thought if he was in the draft, he would have been a top five pick. He hasn't lived up to that. I think they rushed him some. I thought he should have repeated Rome.

Bethancourt will do fine. He'll spend the year in Double A and in Triple A next year. Though he can't take a walk if his life depended on it.

So are we taking the best college bat available at 21? Best OF?

Looking like best position player. I've seen Naquin, Roache, D.J. Davis, and Tanner Raheir all mentioned for the Braves.

Jim Callis also says the Braves could get Florida LHP Brian Johnson. Not sure I'd agree with that pick though. Braves need some high upside position players in their system.

Mark Bowman bringing the lulz.

Scouts have had defensive concerns about all Clemson products since the Orange Bowl @johndelliott Richie Shaffer = replacement for Chipper.

Or, shouldn't.

And if the braves take brian johnson in the first round, holy lord.

The ONLY way that would make sense would to sign him to a deal way under cap and use that money on a high upside high schooler later on. Maybe a Lance McCullers.

Still would rather see them take a position player as that is an area of need in their system, IMO.

Your first mistake was assuming the braves draft will make sense.
