Went 3-3 ATS last week (got Ohio/NIU/Toledo, missed on FIU/Auburn/South Carolina), hoping for something better this time around.
I guess I'll go with six again this week, because I have nothing else to do right now:
Maryland +10 over Temple. Temple is returning nine starters from an 8-win MAC team making a jump in schedule difficulty. Maryland may have looked utterly awful last week, but Week 1 results are never too reliable. Will Maryland win? Who knows. Will they cover? Sure, why not.
Auburn +3 over Mississippi State. I don't know, it just feels right. Also, one would hope Auburn can suck a little less in the red zone this week.
Indiana -13.5 over UMass. UMass gained 39 yards last week. Does Indiana suck at football? Yes. But UMass but up those 39 yards against freaking UConn, who's just as futile.
Central Michigan +21 over Michigan State. GO CHIPS! Seriously though, every Spartans offensive player not named Le'Veon Bell looked horrible on Friday. CMU won't win this game, but something tells me they'll hang around for a while and make life rough for Dantonio. Also, the fact this is at CMU is fantastic.
Northwestern +3.5 over Vanderbilt. Just like last year, Northwestern opens up with a win I didn't entirely expect them to get. Unlike last year, they're facing an opponent with a pulse in Week 2. I'll give NW the benefit of the doubt because this is a home game and every Tennessee fan wants to see Vanderbilt start 0-2. Also, Pat Fitzgerald is the man.
UCLA +5.5 over Nebraska. This feels spectacularly stupid and I know I'll feel spectacularly stupid when Nebraska wins 31-24 despite Taylor Martinez attempting to throw every deep ball to the nearest LAX-bound jet, but maybe it's time for UCLA to get a big home win. Not sure how "big" this would be, though.
