It's been 30 years since the Chiefs drafted a quarterback (Todd Blackledge in 1983) who won a game for them.

Among all QB's to make at least 20 starts over the last 2 seasons, only Aaron Rodgers (25-6) and Tom Brady (25-7) have a better record than Alex Smith (19-5-1).

SF's supporting cast, especially on defense was much, much better than KC's........not saying Cassel wasn't absolutely terrible.

Not saying your wrong but KC had i believe 4 players on defense in the probowl, Including Eric Berry. The pieces are there bud.

Ok there "bud"..........to even insinuate that KC's defense or surrounding cast is even close to SF's is absolutely ridiculous. KC has Hali, Berry, and Houston from defense selected to the PB.........how was the rest of the defense? Who knows if Sutton can turn the defense around, but its laughable that anyone thinks that Alex Smith is worth what they gave up for him. IMO

He's probably not, but that's about market value for finding yourself a starting quarterback at this point. If he sucks, it only costs them a second round pick...I think it's worth the risk. Plus, while I don't think he's a great QB, I do think he could fit Reid's system.

Reid is the wild card, I agree. I have always trusted his evaluation of QBs, but I still think they gave up too much. He could end up working out, but I think it will not be an upgrade at all especially when you consider what they gave up. I will be the first person to admit if I am wrong though.

The Chiefs have the record holder for yards per carry, but Andy Reid hates running backs

Reid makes Cheaney's offense look like Wisconsin
