Here's the deal - prior relationships are everything in this stuff. Tobias knew Jarnell from the AAU circuit, prior to being recruited by UT. Jarnell reached out to Tobias and they could talk about anything they wanted, including UT.

One of the BIG reasons, it's good to recruit elite level kids. They all have relationships with other elite level kids and - LEGALLY - can do a lot of recruiting for you.

Terrence Samuel rescheduled his UConn visit to August 24th.

Terrence Samuel is a long term player. The guards UConn are recruiting Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Isaac Hamilton, Davon Reed, Stevie Clark, Wes Matthews, Wayne Selden (crossed UConn off his list a few days ago) are all much further along in their all around abilities at this time. Therefore I don't think that other recruits listed above would be detoured at all from coming to UConn when/if Terrence Samuel commits.

The last I checked. Here is how he is ranked by some recruiting services:

ESPN: Not in top 100 Grade: 65 PG: 76 2 stars
Rivals: #89 in 150 4 stars
Scout: Not in top 100 3 stars

Kentan Facey (who UConn just signed) is AAU teammates with Samuel and they were thought to be a package deal. I don’t think they are.

He also didn't take his visit to rhode island, but will reschedule.

Seems like a good player, good situation for him to come here and learn a year behind a senior in golden, and then take the reigns his sophomore year.

Samuel is off the board and headed to UCONN, wish him luck.

looking like Landry might end up being our PG in this class.
