2013 Recruiting update

Will Yeguete, Damontre Harris, and Cody Larson will be the three returning big men returning if Young leaves. I assume Nichols is better than Larson, so he probably wouldn't pose any threat to Nichols for playing time. Harris will probably be the starting center when he's eligible. Yeguete will be a senior, so he'll probably start unless we sign Chris Walker. So no, I don't think Nichols would be guaranteed a starting spot, but he'd probably play good minutes behind Yeguete.

Maybe I'll be rooting for Patricia to return for his senior year then. Nichols has made it known depth chart is a big factor, and supposedly that's the turnoff with duke. We should clearly have the best PT to offer him so that may be a deciding factor.

For Nichols and Hubbs...the playing time is for sure there. Would be pretty sweet to see three Memphis kids starting for the big orange.

Absolutely agree. Also, we see the help landing just stokes has done for getting into Memphis. Imagine landing 2 or 3 in the next class, and what it'd do for our attempts to get into Memphis.

Something to condsider when trying to "break the seal" on Memphis recruiting is that pulling a kid from a private school (Nichols) and one from rural West Tennessee (Hubbs) may not do it im terms of perception when you are dealing with athletes in Metro Memphis. However, winning does change perception immensely and with these two on board it will happen sooner rather than later. I'll buy Stokes helping out given the first scenario but, public perception in Memphis is that him landing at UT was due to a unique set of circumstances. JMHO

True about Nichols and hubbs, that's why I'd also like Crawford. However, Nichols and hubbs are fried with Edwards and skai who are Memphis kids, so maybe pulling them leads to them...

Any little bit will help imo
