I think most conferences just seed the teams like the suspended team finished last in the conference. So whoever plays the #16 team in the conference (#9 I think) would get a bye right into day 2 to play the #8 team.

If you finish 13th or 14th in a 14-team conference, you probably don't deserve a shot at winning the conference championship. Take the top 12 and use this year's format.

They are not playing for a conference championship. They are playing for the NCAA tourney automatic bid. They are not the same things. I personally think everyone should be allowed to play in the conference tourney.

Either way, I can't say I'd be overjoyed to see a team that finished, say, 5-13 in conference play make the NCAA Tournament. That's just a waste of a tournament spot.

I agree with you there. But the conference makes so much money from the tourney, they're always going to hold it and the coaches will do whatever they can to make sure as many teams get to play as possible.

I liked the one idea of having the 3 and 4 seeds play Wednesday and then if they won they wouldn't play again until Friday. It gives 1and 2 seeds a bye, 3 and 4 would still get some advantage and then 5-14 just trying to play their ways in. Plus the 2 Wednesday games wouldn't be terrible to watch. Lopsided maybe but not ugly.

Just play your scrubs all season long so there is no scouting report, no game film, nothing. Go into the tournament and whip everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! Wishfull thinking.
