2013 Silly Season

You put alot of the underfunded drivers in the equipment he has had access to and i guarantee you they would have won more than he has.

Brian Vickers had Hendrick stuff and won one race that he would have finished third in had Earnhardt and Johnson not spun on the last lap. Casey Mears had Hendrick and RCR equipment and won one race on fuel mileage. JJ Yeley and Jason Leffler both had Gibbs rides and couldn't do anything with them. Jamie McMurray had Roush equipment for four years and managed just as many wins as Jr has in Handrick stuff. Martin Truex Jr has been in the series since 2006 and has won exactly one race and he isn't exactly a pushover. A fast ride is only one part of the equation. It's not like just anyone can strap into that same Hendrick stuff and start blowing people off the track. I'm not gonna sit here and call Jr the best driver out there, but a lot of guys have done a lot less with really good stuff.

He's not a bust based on his stats just a bust when you compare his stats to his opinion of himself.
Jeff Burton is another guy that seems to think he's more important in the garage area than everyone else.

I could agree with the part about the opinion of himself. He is quiet full of himself. I think that baby may calm him down some.....nah.

thank you for 100 percent making my point for me.

You're trying to call him a publicity stunt. I provided you a list of drivers that had the equipment to win or at least contend to win races just like Jr, but had a hard time finishing 20th. There have been worse drivers in rides just as good as he has had and he has outrun them, so he isn't all hype. He's not what he was in his DEI days, he's not and never will be his father, but there have been far worse hires in the last decade than Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Especially considering how much money Rick Hendrick makes off Dale Jr. souvenirs.

I can see Harvick having that opinion of himself, but not Burton. What gives you reason to think that he thinks that way?

It's just a personal opinion about Burton. He's real political and I think it carries over to his presence in the garage area. He comes across as a guy that if he says something than that is just the way it should be because he is Jeff Burton and he's been doing it a long time.

I think a lot of people hold Jr. to that standard right there and he not his father and he never will be. There aren't going to be too many, if any, drivers like Sr. I think a lot of people just expected Jr. to be able to drive like his father because he was his son. Not the case.
